English
Overview
There are many benefits to learning new vocabulary in English. Most importantly, it improves reading comprehension. Research shows that we need to understand 98% of the words we read in order to understand what we are reading. It is also important for language development, communicating ideas and expressing ourselves in writing.
Students who have a good grasp of vocabulary are able to give more in-depth responses to the texts they read, contribute more easily to classroom discussions and use more precise vocabulary in their written work.
