Our Mission: Our purpose is to ensure high levels of learning for all students in a safe and positive environment.
Our Vision: We will be recognized as an exceptional school district that is driven by student success.
This curriculum site is where all of the curriculum-related documents within our district reside. We need your help to make sure all documents are updated.
Cohorts are welcome to revise curriculum documents according to the following guidelines:
All curriculum changes must align to the Wyoming State Standards and WY-TOPP Assessment Blueprints.
All cohorts must be in agreement.
Any changes that have an impact on the grade level above or below your grade level must be discussed with those cohorts, and consensus reached. This is to ensure the integrity of a comprehensive sequence of instruction.
Once the above guidelines are met, notify the curriculum director.
REMEMBER ...
Curriculum is the what. This tool clarifies what you're expected to teach your students. It is considered "guaranteed and viable," meaning, it's non-negotiable and it's doable. No matter which resources you use to teach your students, what you teach should remain the same.
Your curriculum should not be revised without the approval of the curriculum director. If you feel that a revision is necessary, please contact Troy Zickefoose.
Pacing Guides allow you to plan out your year to ensure your students learn everything they need. It's a tool to help keep you on track.
Proficiency Scales are first and foremost a tool for teachers and students, but it also serves parents. For teachers, the scale provides information regarding instruction, assessment, and feedback to the learner. For students, the proficiency scale provides clear learning targets regarding what they must know and be able to do in relation to an outcome. Proficiency scales also serve as a source of information for parents in order for them to better understand the instructional focus in a content area or course (Hoegh, 2020).
Assessments, the common ones linked to your class page, should be used by all teachers who teach the same grade or class. Use them from year to year so you can analyze what works in your teaching. Like your curriculum, if you feel a revision is necessary, please contact Troy Zickefoose.
