Monday, October 14, 2019

Learning Target: I can show my understanding of the novel The Giver by applying my understanding to the end of the unit project which I created.

Objectives:

  • Periods 1 and 2 will use time to work on projects
  • Periods 6,7 and 8- all students will report back to homerooms and watch The Giver movie

Homework: Review noun clause notes for short quiz tomorrow. Skills Journal may be used as a resource during the quiz.

Learning Target: I can show my understanding of noun clauses by completing a short assessment.

Objectives:

  • Complete noun clause quiz using Skills Journal as a reference
  • If time remains, work on the final project for The Giver

Homework: Continue to work on The Giver final project (Due: November 1)


Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Learning Target: I can participate in a discussion regarding adjective clauses and complete a short activity which I will share with my peers.

Objectives:

  • Complete cloze notes in reference to adjective clauses
  • Complete activity in class reviewing adjective clauses

Homework: Continue to work on The Giver final project (Due: November 1)

Learning Target: I can demonstrate my understanding of adjective clauses by completing a Skills Journal entry. I will then complete an in- class activity which I will share with my peers.

Objectives:

  • Complete Skills Journal entry
  • Complete in class activity reviewing adjective clauses

Learning Target: I can apply my understanding of The Giver to the final project. I can also review the rubric for the final assignment and begin to self-assess to make sure that I have included all necessary elements.

Objectives:

  • Review rubric for the final assignment
  • Self- assess using rubric
  • Continue working on the final project
