We have reached the final weeks of the school year! We are proud of all of the growth we have seen in our Team Aspire students as they have progressed through sixth grade. Our field trip to TreeTop Adventures was such a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a great year together! We are so proud of how our students represented ASMS, and we sincerely thank all of the parents and guardians who volunteered to help make the field trip such a success!
As a part of our Admirable Attributes program, Team Aspire recognizes two students each month who exemplify positive team attributes. The Admirable Attribute for the month of June is: Responsible. With the end of the year comes some exciting activities. It is also a time for students to make sure that they are fulfilling their academic responsibilities. We ask you to encourage students to look at home for any books that might belong to the school library or classroom libraries, and to make sure that they are continuing to put forth their best effort when completing homework and class assignments. We continue to promote students taking responsibility for their own learning by checking Aspen regularly and advocating for themselves if they need help in any areas of the curriculum. We want to make sure that students maintain responsible behavior in order to have a strong finish to sixth grade!
Our students are almost seventh graders! One of the best things that students can do to help ensure they are ready for seventh grade in the fall is to spend time reading over the summer. Students recently attended a presentation outlining summer reading requirements. All FPS middle school students are required to read at least two books over the summer-one of which must be one of the featured titles listed on this flyer. Students will be responsible for logging each book they read on the Google Form linked in Summer Reading Requirements document. Paper copies of the flyer and requirements were sent home, and students are welcome to fill out the paper form if they are unable to access the Google Form over the summer. Mrs. McCormick is available to answer any questions and help with selecting books if needed. Everyone is welcome to attend the FMS book fair and fundraiser at Unlikely Story on Wednesday, June 11th from 2-8pm to browse and shop for summer reading books!
Recently in math class, Mrs. Almeida went over the summer math requirements. Students have already signed in to the DeltaMath account that they will need to work on this. Be on the lookout for more information coming soon from administration.
We have thoroughly enjoyed taking this journey through the first year of middle school with our students and watching them grow as learners and people each day. We will truly miss them next year!
Warm Regards,
Team Aspire Teachers
