Savage Soccer is a robotics competition that challenges high school student to think critically and learn more about engineering, design, and robotics through fun competition. It is organized by Worcester Polytechnic Institute students, and each year they develop an original game for the competitors.

During the match, there are four teams on the field and two alliances (Red and Blue). Over the course of the event day, each team plays 8 qualifying matches, and each time each team's alliance and competitors are chosen randomly.

1) Each robot that crosses the delivery line in AUTONOMOUS receives 5 points
2) PIZZAs scored before the end of AUTONOMOUS are scored with a 3x multiplier.
1) Pizzas scored on floor one receive 2 points
2) Pizzas scored on floor two receive 4 points
3) Pizzas scored on floor three receive 6 points
4) Dorm with 4 floors receives 6 points
5) Dorm with 5 floors receives 8 points
6) Pizzas scored on floor 5 receive 8 points
7) Seven or more pizzas are scored in a coalition's dorm receives 25 points
1) The first golden pizza scored in the GOAT’S HEAD PAN gets 25 points
2) If a robot is fully supported by the HANGING BAR, their team receives 20 points
3) The winner of the match is the coalition that has the most points at the end of the match.
Every match is 2 min 15 seconds long and consists of three parts: Autonomous Period, Driver Control Period(split into 1st and 2nd driver control periods), and End Game Period.
0-15 secs: Autonomous Control
Robots try to score points through with out the help of a driver.
Instead, teams create precise code that directs their robot to score points.
Any points scored in this mode are worth more because of the difficulty factor
15-70 secs: First Driver Control Period
First Driver use the radio controllers to drive the robot and score points
70-80 secs: Driver Switch Period
Teams have ten seconds to give the second driver control of the robot
80-135 secs: Second Driver Control Period
Second Driver use the radio controllers to drive the robot and score points
105 secs: Endgame Period Begins
In this thirty second period, a special game element appears that allows teams to score more points
135 secs: Game Ends
