About Me
Ms. Romer is one of the 6th grade Social Studies teachers here at Franklin Avenue Middle School, and is very excited to join the FAMS community as of this year! She began her teaching career in Rye, New York, where she taught 5-8th history for three years!
She has a Bachelors degree in History, and a Masters Degree in Social Studies Education from Stony Brook University. When Ms. Romer isn't teaching, you can find her walking with her dog, reading a book, or gardening.
Teaching Philosophy
Ms. Romer believes that history is a story. Even 5,000 years ago, though daily life looked different, humans always had feelings and struggles similar to us today. Ms. Romer hopes that, in her class, students will feel similarly as they travel back in time and learn their story.
