About Me

Mr. News is excited to be part of Franklin Lakes Middle School! He has previously worked in post-secondary education schools (Bloomsburg University and Princeton University) and in other various industries. Moreover, Mr. News has taught secondary ELA grades 8-12 in Florida!

M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

B.A in Mass Communications from Iona College

Aside from education, Mr. News loves sports especially basketball and golf as well as board/video games.

Philosophy

My goal is for each of my students to learn and succeed in all areas of their life; however, it is a cumulative effort from the teacher, the student, and the parent/guardian. When working together, the possibilities are endless. The class directly addresses individual needs through whole group instruction, instructional software, independent reading of high interest fiction and nonfiction books, differentiated instruction, and small group instruction
