The Education and Training Career Cluster focuses on planning, managing, and providing education and training services and related learning support services. CTE learners will be prepared for careers related to teaching, instruction, and creating instructional and enrichment materials. The program of study introduces CTE learners to a wide variety of student groups and their corresponding needs. It familiarizes them with the processes for developing curriculum, coordinating educational content, and coaching groups and individuals.
Students enrolled in CTE courses have the opportunity to participate in a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) appropriate to the courses in which they are enrolled. CTSOs promote leadership development, and job skill training, and can provide scholarships.
UIL Academic competitions exist to complement the academic curriculum, are designed to motivate students as they acquire higher levels of knowledge, to challenge students to confront issues of importance and to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of specific skills. Students are challenged to think critically and creatively, exhibiting much more than knowledge and comprehension.
Franklin ISD offers career and technical education programs in. Admission to these programs is based on student interest, grade, level of appropriateness, and class availability.
