What cities do you love? Why?
Hamburg, Germany. When you are looking for a great coffee experience, try Speicherstadt Kaffeerösterei at the highly impressive Hamburg harbour. Doing additional research about the city of Hamburg, this is what I learned.
Hamburg, Germany. When you are in Hamburg, visit the Neuengamme concentration camp memorial. Towards the end of World War 2, my grandfather, who was a Danish police officer, was deported with about 2,000 other Danish police officers to concentration camps in Germany - one of them being the Neuengamme concentration camp. To learn more about my grand father's experiences, please read this story.
Doing research about the experiences of my grandfather led me on to the book Man's search for meaning by Viktor Frankl. It is one of the best books I have read.
Milan, Italy. Who wouldn't like to be surrounded by a vertical forrest when you live in an apartment? Well, in Milan in Italy, this dream turned into reality with bosco verticale. Doing further research about the city of Milan, this is what I found out.
Zermatt, Switzerland. Doing research about the town Zermatt located in canton Valais in the Southern part of Switzerland, I was impressed not least about the extraordinary nature around the town: 29 mountain peaks over 4,000 meters, about 50 lakes and almost 100 natural Springs.
The village of Zermatt is also very impressive. Just a few thousand people live here permanently, but more than 2 million people from all over the world come here each year.
