15/04/2025- SALINAS DE AÑANA
El pasado 15 de abril, los alumnos de primero de Turismo realizamos una salida al Camping El Roble Verde, donde Irene nos explicó cómo se trabaja en un alojamiento turístico. Posteriormente, nos desplazamos a Salinas de Añana, dónde Noelia y Cristina nos ofrecieron una visita guiada muy interesante.
El objetivo de esta salida era conocer de primera mano el funcionamiento tanto de un recurso turístico como de un alojamiento rural, y sin duda se cumplió con creces. Fue una experiencia muy útil y motivadora, ya que nos permitió aplicar y entender mejor los contenidos aprendidos en clase. Además, las explicaciones de las tres profesionales nos transmitieron su pasión por el trabajo que realizan, lo que hizo la jornada aún más inspiradora.
Agradecer a ellas 3 (Cristina, Noelia y Irene), por dedicarnos su tiempo y realizar su trabajo de una manera excepcional.

On 15th April, the first year Tourism students went on an outing to El Roble Verde Campsite, where Irene explained to us how to work in a tourist accommodation. Afterwards, we went to Salinas de Añana, where Noelia and Cristina gave us a very interesting guided tour.
The aim of this outing was to get to know first-hand how a tourist resource and a rural accommodation work, and without a doubt this was more than achieved. It was a very useful and motivating experience, as it allowed us to apply and better understand the contents learned in class. In addition, the explanations of the three professionals conveyed their passion for the work they do, which made the day even more inspiring.
We would like to thank the three of them (Cristina, Noelia and Irene) for dedicating their time to us and for carrying out their work in an exceptional way.

Los días 8 y 9 de abril tuvo lugar en la Sala Green Capital del Palacio de Congresos Europa, la feria Avanza, un evento centrado en ofrecer información sobre los distintos ciclos de Formación Profesional. En este espacio se instalaron stands de diversos centros formativos de Álava, donde los visitantes podían acercarse libremente para conocer más sobre los cursos que les interesaban.
Como estudiantes del ciclo de Grado Superior de Turismo, tuvimos la suerte de colaborar como parte del equipo organizador de la feria, desempeñando funciones de azafatos. Entre nuestras tareas se encontraba controlar el acceso de los asistentes y repartir bolsas promocionales con la imagen de Avanza.
Finalmente, queremos agradecer a Raquel Arozarena por hacernos partícipes de esta experiencia tan enriquecedora y por su excelente trabajo en la coordinación del evento, que se desarrolló en un ambiente muy agradable.

On April 8th and 9th, the Green Capital Hall at the Europa Conference Center hosted the Avanza fair, an event dedicated to providing comprehensive information about various vocational training programs. Several educational institutions from the Álava region participated with their own stands, offering visitors the opportunity to learn more about different courses firsthand.
As students of the Higher Degree in Tourism, we were fortunate to be part of the organizing team for the event, working as hosts. Our tasks included managing attendee access and distributing promotional bags featuring the Avanza branding.
We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Raquel Arozarena for giving us the opportunity to take part in this valuable experience. We also commend her excellent work in organizing a successful event that took place in a warm and collaborative atmosphere.
21/03/2025 - MUSEO BIBAT
El 21 de marzo, los alumnos de primero de turismo tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar el Museo Bibat que es la fusión del Museo de Arqueología de Álava y el Museo Fournier de Naipes. En primer lugar, Izaskun nos hizo una visita guiada por el Museo de Arqueología de Álava en el que nos explicó sobre la Prehistoria y después pudimos visitar el museo de Naipes donde nos explicaron su historia, las diferentes técnicas que utilizan y pudimos ver diferentes cartas de Naipes de todo el mundo.
Queremos agradecer a Izaskun por realizarnos la visita guiada gracias a ella pudimos aprender mucho.
21/03/2025- BIBAT MUSEUM
On March 21st, the first-year tourism students had the opportunity to visit the Bibat Museum, a fusion of the Álava Archaeology Museum and the Fournier Playing Card Museum. First, Izaskun gave us a guided tour of the Álava Archaeology Museum, where she explained prehistory. Then, we were able to visit the Playing Card Museum, where they explained their history and the different techniques they use. We were able to see different playing cards from around the world.
We would like to thank Izaskun for giving us the guided tour, thanks to which we learned a lot.
19/03/2025 - LABASTIDA
El pasado 19 de marzo, el alumnado de primer curso del Grado en Turismo tuvo la oportunidad de realizar una visita guiada al municipio de Labastida. A lo largo del recorrido, profundizamos en la historia de la localidad, paseando por sus calles y conociendo de cerca su valioso patrimonio cultural.
La jornada dio comienzo en la oficina de turismo, donde recibimos una completa explicación sobre su funcionamiento y las funciones que desempeña en el ámbito turístico. Posteriormente, visitamos dos de los monumentos más representativos del municipio: la Iglesia de Santa María y la Basílica de Santa María de la Labastida.
Gracias a esta enriquecedora experiencia, tuvimos la ocasión de ampliar nuestros conocimientos sobre la historia y el legado de esta localidad perteneciente a Rioja Alavesa.
Queremos expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a Nagore, empresaria de la comarca, por guiarnos durante la visita y por compartir con nosotros sus valiosos conocimientos y consejos.

On March 19th, the first-year students of Tourism had the opportunity to take a guided tour of Bastida. During the tour, we learned about the history of the town, walking through its streets and discovering its heritage.
The day began at the tourist office, where we were informed about how it works and what its role is. We then visited two iconic landmarks: the Church of Santa María and the Basilica of Santa María of Bastida.
Thanks to this experience, we were able to learn a great deal about the history of this town in Rioja Alavesa.
We would like to express our gratitude to Nagore, a businesswoman from Rioja Alavesa, for the guided tour and all the valuable advice she gave us.
11/03/2025 - ASFALTOS NATURALES DE LA MONTAÑA ALAVESA
El pasado 11 de marzo, los alumnos de 1º de Guía, Información y Asistencias Turísticas tuvimos la oportunidad de participar en una visita guiada por los asfaltos naturales de la montaña Alavesa. La guía que nos acompañó durante todo el recorrido fue Arantxa con la colaboración de Oscar en el centro de interpretación de la vía verde del ferrocarril vaso-navarro.
Para empezar la visita visitamos la mina de Mina Lucia en Atauri, luego fuimos a Arraia-Maeztu a visitar el mural realizado por Irantzu Lekue y la antigua estación del tren ahora reconvertida en el ayuntamiento del pueblo. Posteriormente nos trasladamos a la ubicación original donde se encontraban las fábricas de baldosas y panes de la localidad donde la antigua estación de ferrocarril de Atauri está siendo reacondicionada para convertirse en el centro de interpretación de los asfaltos naturales de la montaña Alavesa. Para finalizar visitamos el centro de interpretación de la vía verde del ferrocarril vaso-navarro más conocido como el ``Treniko´´ en Antoñana.
Queremos agradecer a Arantxa el excelente trabajo realizado así como su cercanía con el grupo. Además, nos dio consejos sobre diferentes situaciones que un guía puede vivir adaptándonos al público objetivo algunas de estas contadas desde su experiencia personal.
11/03/2025 -NATURAL ASPHALTS OF MONTAÑA ALAVESA
On March 11th, the first-year Guidance, Information, and Tourist Assistance students had the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the natural asphalt of the Alava Mountains. The guide who accompanied us throughout the tour was Arantxa, with the collaboration of Oscar at the Vasco-Navarre Railway Greenway Interpretation Center.
To begin the tour, we visited the Mina Lucia mine in Atauri, then went to Arraia-Maeztu to see the mural created by Irantzu Lekue and the old train station, now converted into the town hall. Afterwards, we moved to the original location of the town's tile and bread factories, where the old Atauri train station is being refurbished to become the interpretation center for the natural asphalt of the Alava Mountains. Finally, we visited the Vasco-Navarre Railway Greenway Interpretation Center, better known as the "Treniko," in Antoñana.
We'd like to thank Arantxa for her excellent work and for her closeness to the group. She also gave us advice on various situations a guide might encounter, adapting some of them to the target audience, based on her personal experience.
2025/02/28 - CHARLA SOBRE EL 3 DE MARZO
El pasado 28 de febrero, nuestra compañera Zuriñe, estudiante de primer año de turismo del BHI Francisco de Vitoria, nos dio una charla sobre lo sucedido el 3 de marzo de 1976 en Vitoria Gasteiz.
Nos hizo llegar la importancia de saber bien la historia de los hechos ocurridos para evitar que caiga en el olvido aquella tragedia que fue una grave violación de los derechos humanos.
Nos gustaría agradecer a Zuriñe por realizar esta charla, ya que es de gran importancia tener conocimiento de estos hechos para poder conmemorar anualmente a las víctimas y recordar la importancia de la lucha por los derechos laborales y las libertades democráticas.
28/02/2025- SPEECH ABOUT 3 OF MARCH
On February 28th, our colleague Zuriñe, a first year student of tourism at BHI Francisco de Vitoria, gave us a talk about what happened on March 3, 1976 in Vitoria Gasteiz.
She told us how important it is to know the history of the events that took place in order to prevent that tragedy, which was a serious violation of human rights, from falling into oblivion.
We would like to thank Zuriñe for giving this talk, since it is of great importance to have knowledge of these facts in order to commemorate the victims every year and to remember the importance of the struggle for labor rights and democratic freedoms.
14/02/2025 - CHARLAS SOBRE FITUR
El pasado 14 de febrero, nuestros compañeros Ibai y Laura, estudiantes de primer y segundo de turismo del BHI Francisco de Vitoria, nos dieron una charla sobre su experiencia en Fitur.
La conferencia fue muy entretenida, porque tuvimos la oportunidad de contar el trabajo que realizaron en la feria, su experiencia profesional, anécdotas de su estancia en Madrid, entre otras cosas. También nos mostraron la vestimenta y acreditaciones que debían llevar mientras estuvieran en el stand.
Nos hicieron llegar la importancia de trabajar allí. Por un lado, por adquirir experiencia profesional de cara al público, y por otro, porque aprendieron mucho sobre el sector turístico.
Nos gustaría agradecer a Ibai y Laura por compartir su experiencia y a Euskadi Basquetour por darnos la oportunidad de trabajar allí.

On February 14th, our classmates Ibai and Laura gave us a talk. They talk about their experience working in Fitur as workers representing the stand of Euskadi.
They had the opportunity to talk about the work they did, their professional experience working and many other things. They also showed us photos and videos in the presentation.
They made us understand the importance of working there. However, it was a great opportunity to have professional experience in customer service and they learned a lot about the tourism sector.
We would like to thank Ibai and Laura for sharing their experience and to Euskadi Basquetour for giving us the opportunity to work there.
14/02/2025- CONFÉRENCE FITUR
Il 14 febbraio, le nostre colleghe Ibai e Laura, studentesse del primo e secondo anno di turismo presso il BHI Francisco de Vitoria, ci hanno parlato della loro esperienza a Fitur.
La conferenza è stata molto divertente, perché abbiamo avuto l'opportunità di raccontare il lavoro svolto in fiera, la loro esperienza professionale, aneddoti del loro soggiorno a Madrid, tra le altre cose. Ci hanno anche mostrato gli abiti e gli accreditamenti che dovevano indossare mentre erano allo stand.
Ci hanno fatto capire l'importanza di lavorare lì. Da un lato, per fare esperienza professionale di fronte al pubblico, dall'altro, perché hanno imparato molto sul settore turistico.
Ringraziamo Ibai e Laura per aver condiviso la loro esperienza e Euskadi Basquetour per averci dato l'opportunità di lavorare lì.
25/1/2025 CHARLAS EN FITUR
El alumno de primero Ibai Ruiz Montoya y la alumna de segundo Laura Rudel tuvieron la oportunidad de ir a trabajar a FITUR para trabajar en el stand de Euskadi Basque Country del 22 de enero del 2025 al 26 de enero del 2025.
Fitur es la feria internacional de turismo que se celebra en Madrid, exactamente en el recinto de Ifema. Esta feria cuenta con stand de comunidades de España y con países de todo el mundo. Allí estuvimos trabajando en el stand de Euskadi, ocupando diferentes puestos como en el mostrador o en la zona de empresas. El stand era recreando una txalaparta, con sus maderas y pieles de ovejas. Dentro del stand había diferentes mostradores, una zona de presentaciones, zona de mesas para las empresas y un bar. Los mostradores lo conformaban las tres capitales (Gasteiz, Bilbo y Donosti) junto con las zonas de la Rioja Alavesa, Montes y valles vascos y la costa Bizkaina y Gipuzkoa.
Podemos decir que fue una experiencia muy positiva y enriquecedora para nosotros ya que estuvimos aprendiendo de cómo trabajar en nuestro ámbito y disfrutamos mucho. Agradecer a Basque Tour y Eventoki por la oportunidad que nos brindaron para poder acudir a Fitur como representantes de Euskadi Basque Country.

First year student Ibai Ruiz Montoya and second year student Laura Rudel had the opportunity to go to work at FITUR to work at the Euskadi Basque Country stand from January 22, 2025 to January 26, 2025.
Fitur is the international tourism fair that is held in Madrid, exactly at the Ifema venue. This fair has stands from communities in Spain and countries from around the world. There we were working at the Euskadi stand, occupying different positions such as at the counter or in the business area. The stand was recreating a txalaparta, with its wood and sheep skins. Inside the stand there were different counters, a presentation area, a table area for companies and a bar. The counters were made up of the three capitals (Gasteiz, Bilbo and Donosti) along with the areas of Rioja Alavesa, Basque Mountains and Valleys and the coast of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.
We can say that it was a very positive and enriching experience for us since we were learning how to work in our field and we really enjoyed it. Thank Basque Tour and Eventoki for the opportunity they gave us to attend Fitur as representatives of Euskadi Basque Country.

El pasado fin de semana, los estudiantes de primero y segundo año del ciclo de grado superior de turismo tuvimos la increíble oportunidad de asistir a FITUR Madrid 2025, la feria internacional de turismo. Este evento es un punto de referencia fundamental para nuestra formación, ya que nos brinda conocimientos clave sobre las tendencias, servicios y oportunidades del sector turístico.
Durante nuestra visita, exploramos los 9 diferentes pabellones de la feria, destacando zonas tan llamativas como África, Latinoamérica, Andalucía, Euskadi y empresas de servicios turísticos como cruceros y alquiler de autos, entre otros. En cada espacio, las presentaciones y actividades reflejaban la esencia única de cada región, logrando que cada rincón se sintiera especial y auténtico. Además, participamos en juegos, sorteos y actividades interactivas, degustamos productos locales y, como no podía faltar, nos unimos a los bailes y presentaciones culturales que animaron el evento.
Uno de los aprendizajes más valiosos de esta experiencia fue descubrir que cada parte del mundo tiene un atractivo especial y único, ofreciendo vivencias irrepetibles que enriquecen el turismo a nivel global. Los expositores estuvieron siempre dispuestos a enseñarnos sus servicios y productos, lo que nos permitió ampliar nuestra visión y entender mejor las dinámicas de este sector tan diverso y cambiante.
Sin duda, esta visita nos permitió desarrollar una perspectiva más global e innovadora sobre el turismo, reforzando nuestra vocación y pasión por esta profesión. Actividades como las presentaciones musicales, degustaciones y bailes de África, Asia y Latinoamérica fueron los momentos más disfrutados por nuestro grupo, creando recuerdos que difícilmente olvidaremos.
Por todo ello, recomendamos esta actividad no solo a estudiantes de turismo, sino a cualquier persona interesada en el turismo. FITUR es una oportunidad única para compartir con diferentes culturas, aprender de sus costumbres, idiomas y tradiciones, y ampliar nuestra comprensión del impacto del turismo a nivel mundial.
Además, de haber podido visitar FITUR, también pudimos visitar Madrid como Gran Vía y el Museo de Reina Sofía.
Queremos expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a nuestras profesoras Nerea, Nere y Amaia, quienes gestionaron esta experiencia inolvidable, así como al instituto, que nos apoyó en la logística con transporte y parte de las entradas a FITUR, facilitándonos la posibilidad de cubrir otros gastos personales como el hospedaje. Gracias a este esfuerzo conjunto, pudimos embarcarnos en esta excursión que comenzó el viernes a las 8 de la mañana y culminó el sábado a las 4 de la tarde.

On the weekend of January 25, the first and second year students of the higher degree cycle in tourism had the opportunity to attend FITUR Madrid 2025, the international tourism fair. This event is a fundamental reference point for our training, as it provides us with key knowledge about trends, services and opportunities in the tourism sector and its tourist destinations.
During our visit, we were able to see the 9 pavilions of the fair, highlighting areas as striking as Africa, America, Europe, Andalusia, Euskadi and tourism service companies such as cruises and car rentals, among others. In each space, the presentations and activities reflected the unique essence of each region, making every corner feel special and authentic. In addition, we participated in games, raffles and interactive activities, tasted local products and enjoyed traditional dances.
One of the most valuable lessons we have learned from this experience was to discover that each part of the world has a special and unique attraction, offering unrepeatable experiences that enrich tourism at a global level. The exhibitors were always willing to show us their tourist resources, gastronomy, traditions, etc.
Undoubtedly, this visit allowed us to develop a more global and innovative perspective on tourism, reinforcing our vocation and passion for tourism. Activities such as musical presentations, tastings, traditional dances and traditional costumes were the most enjoyed moments, creating memories that we will hardly forget.
For all these reasons, we recommend this activity not only to students of tourism, but to anyone interested in traveling and learning about new tourist destinations. FITUR is a unique opportunity to learn about different destinations, cultures, customs and traditions, and to broaden our understanding of the impact of tourism worldwide.
We would like to express our most sincere thanks to our teachers Nerea, Nere and Amaia, who managed this unforgettable experience, as well as to the institute, which supported us in the logistics with transportation and a portion of the tickets to FITUR, making it possible for us to cover other personal expenses such as our stay in Madrid.
In addition to visiting FITUR, we were also able to visit Madrid such as Gran Vía and the Museum of Reina Sofia.

El pasado 15 y 22 de enero, la clase de segundo de turismo hizo una salida al mercado de abastos de Vitoria-Gasteiz para hacer dos catas de vino en diferentes grupos. Ambas catas fueron impartidas en francés.
La primera cata fue de queso y de vinos de la bodega Eguren Ugarte, siendo estos un reserva y un rioja blanco.
La segunda cata fue de chocolate y vinos de la bodega Eguren Ugarte, siendo estos un moscato, un rioja tinto y un reserva.
Además de la cata, nos dieron una explicación acerca de la bodega y de los pasos a seguir para realizar una cata de vinos.
Con esto, queríamos agradecer a Silvia y a la bodega Eguren Ugarte por hacernos disfrutar de esa experiencia.
15/01/2025-22/01/2025- TASTING SESSION
Last 15th and 22th of January, the class from the second year of Tourism went on a trip to the Mercado de Abastos of Vitoria-Gasteiz to do two different wine tasting sessions, divided in two groups.
The first tasting included cheese and wine from the Eguren Ugarte winery, these wines being a Reserve Wine and a White Rioja Wine.
The second one included chocolate and wine from the Eguren Ugarte winery, these wines being a Muscat, a Red Rioja Wine and a Reserve Wine.
Beside the tasting, they gave us a brief explanation on this winery and introduced us to the steps to do a wine tasting.
For this, we want to thank Silvia and the Eguren Ugarte winery for this experience.
15/01/2025-22/01/2025- DÉGUSTATION ÉTAIENT ETAIENT EN FRANÇAIS
Les 15 et 22 janvier le classe de deuxième année de tourisme fait une sortie au marché de Vitoria-Gasteiz pour faire deux dégustation de vins. Les deux dégustation étaient en français.
La première dégustation était de fromage et vin de la cave Eguren Ugarte, il était une vin blanc.
La deuxième dégustation était chocolat et vin de la cave Eguren Ugarte, il était moscato, vin Rioja rouge et réservé.
De plus, elle fait une explication sur la cave et les étapes à suivre pour réaliser la dégustation de vin.
Nous voulons remercier Silvia et la cave Eguren Ugarte pour profiter de cette expérience.
09/12/2024-10/01/2025-21/01/2025 TALLER DE SENSIBILIZACIÓN Y LENGUA DE SIGNOS
Los días 9 de diciembre del 2024, 10 y 21 de enero del 2025, los alumnos de segundo curso de Turismo recibieron 6 horas de taller de sensibilización y lengua de signos.
En el taller, enseñaron el alfabeto dactilológico, los números, expresiones que se utilizan en el día a día y vocabulario relacionado con el turismo mediante actividades y dinámicas. También dieron a conocer como actuar ante aquellas personas junto a algunas recomendaciones.
Muchas gracias a los alumnos de mediación comunicativa Martina Abad, Amets Apiñaniz, Nera Dieguez y Anne Palma por la formación recibida, fue una experiencia muy interesante y divertida
09/12/2024-10/01/2025-21/01/2025 TALLER DE SENSIBILIZACIÓN Y LENGUA DE SIGNOS
Last week, on the 21st of January 2025, we the students of second year studies in Turism, received the last class of the 6h workshop on communication awareness and sign language given by the first year students of communicative mediation.
During said workshop we were given speeches and shown videos on the importance of communication. We also learned some basic sign language like finger spelling and basic words in SSL (Spanish Sign Language) related to our field of studies, as well as recommendations on how to approach certain situations.
We are grateful to the first year students of communicative mediation Martina Abad, Amets Apiñaniz, Nera Dieguez y Anne Palma, for this workshop and incredible experience.
2025/01/16 - FERIA DE LAS CUADRILLAS
El día 16 de enero, el alumnado del ciclo de grado superior de 1º de Turismo realizamos una Feria sobre Cuadrillas de Álava, que fue visitada por alumnos y alumnas de diferentes Ciclos de FDV y por la dirección del centro.
La feria se encontraba dividida en cuatro puestos con cuatro cuadrillas diferentes: Ayala, Añana, Campezo-Montaña Alavesa y Laguardia-Rioja Alavesa. En los diferentes puestos los miembros de los equipos daban una pequeña explicación sobre la cuadrilla y los recursos turísticos a visitar.
Nos gustaría agradecer a la dirección del centro el habernos permitido llevar a cabo esta Feria y agradecer a profesorado y alumnado por haber asistido al evento, sin ellos no se podría haber llevado a cabo.
16/01/2025 - FERIA DE LAS CUADRILLAS
On the 16th of January, the students of the first year of the higher cycle of Tourism carried out a Fair on Cuadrillas of Alava, which was visited by students from different cycles and by the management staff of the centre.
The fair was divided into four stands with different ‘cuadrillas’: Ayala, Añana, Campezo-Montaña Alavesa and Laguardia-Rioja Alavesa. At the different stands, the members of the groups gave a short explanation about the group and the tourist resources to visit.
We would like to thank the school management for allowing us to carry out this fair and we would also like to thank the teachers and students for attending the event, without them this would not have been place.
2025/01/07-CHARLA APDEMA
Hoy hemos tenido la oportunidad de asistir a una charla organizada por Karmele, la cual trabaja en la asociación APDEMA.
Durante la ponencia, hemos tenido la oportunidad de conocer más sobre el trabajo de Karmele y sobre el trabajo y actividades que se realizan por parte de la asociación para personas con diversidad intelectual. Además, fuimos animados a ser voluntarios y nos explicó el funcionamiento del voluntariado en APDEMA.
Queremos agradecer a Karmele por su asistencia y a Elba, nuestra compañera, quien hizo posible que esta charla se llevara a cabo.

On January 7th, the students of the first and second year of the course of Tourism were given a talk by the association Apdema.
Karmele, representing Apdema and responsible for the free-time activities, talked about this association, explaining what it was and who and how they worked with. She also explained how we could work with them and which activities were available for us to participate in.
Thank you very much to Karmele for her time and the interesting information, as well as the student Elba, who made it possible.

El pasado jueves, 12 de diciembre, los alumnos de 1º y 2º de Turismo realizaron una charla sobre el Certamen Internacional de Coros de Tolosa. Varios alumnos acudieron a este evento para realizar la función de guía acompañante.
En la charla nos contaron las experiencias que vivieron, varias anécdotas y todas las personas que conocieron de diferentes países. Varias alumnas ya estuvieron el año pasado y este año han vuelto a repetir ya que es una experiencia muy bonita y enriquecedora.

Last Thursday, December 12th, the students of 1st and 2nd year of Tourism gave a talk about the Tolosa International Choral Competition, which some students attended as tour guides.
During the talk, they shared a bunch of the experiences they had, various anecdotes, and introduced the people from different countries they met. Some students had already participated last year and decided to return this year, as it is a very beautiful and enriching experience.
We would like to thank Elena, Patricia, María, Rodrigo, Uxue, Kala, and Laura for giving us such an entertaining talk.
2024/11/20 - CATA DE VINOS
El 20 de Noviembre, los estudiantes de Turismo asistimos a Mendizorroza para una cata de vinos. Primero, un grupo de estudiantes de cocina nos repartieron dos tipos de vino (blanco y tinto) , seguidamente nos enseñaron a cómo catar el vino. Más tarde algunos de los estudiantes de Turismo les presentaron nuestro Ciclo con su correspondiente presentación power point. Agradecemos a Rodolfo Villate, Coordinador de Egibide-Mendizorrotza y Responsable de FP de la familia de la Hostelería, y a Itxaso Ugarte, profesora de Egibide-Mendizorrotza. Por último, agradecer también a nuestra compañera Karolina por conseguir esta visita.
2024/11/20 - WINE TASTING
On November 20th, the students of Tourism went to Mendizorrotza to do a Wine Tasting in Mendizorrotza. A group of students who are studying Cooking taught us how to taste wine. First we tasted the white and the red ones. A group of us explained to them our studies program. We were able to enjoy this experience thanks to a classmate who had studied there before. We would like to thank the students of Mendizorroza for their professionalism. We want to thank Rodolfo Villate, coordinator of Egibide-Mendizorroza and the responsible of FP family hospitality, also Itxaso Ugarte, teacher from Egibide-Mendizorrotza and Karolina Krupa, our classmate, for getting this visit.
12/11/2024- FERIA AVANZA ORIENTA
El pasado 12 de noviembre tuvo lugar la feria Avanza Orienta dirigida a los orientadores/as, tutores/as y directores/as de secundaria y bachillerato en el Salón Gasteiz del Palacio de Congresos Europa en Vitoria-Gasteiz. En ella, los estudiantes de 1º de turismo tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir como parte del equipo, prestando nuestros servicios como azafatos de evento. Nos encargamos de orientar el ingreso a los participantes desde la entrada principal hasta la sala donde se realizaría el evento, el registro y comprobación de los participantes inscritos, además de brindarles un espacio seguro donde dejar sus pertenencia si así lo decidieran.
Por último, queremos agradecer a Raquel Arozarena de Ikaslan y de Comunicación 2más2 por brindarnos la oportunidad de participar y aprender un poco del amplio trabajo que lleva la organización de los eventos, permitiéndonos adquirir esta maravillosa experiencia de ser parte su equipo. ¡Gracias!

Last Friday, 12th of November, the Avanza Orienta fair aimed at counselors, tutors and directors of secondary and high school took place in the Gasteiz Hall of the Europa Conference Center in Vitoria - Gasteiz. The tourism students had the opportunity to work there, providing our services as event hostesses. We were in charge of guiding the entry of the participants from the main entrance to the room where the event would be held, the registration and verification of the participants, as well as providing them with a safe space to leave their belongings if they decided to do so.
Finally, we want to thank Raquel Arozarena for giving us the opportunity to participate and learn a little about the extensive work that goes into organizing the events, allowing us to acquire this wonderful experience of being part of her team. Thank you!

في يوم 12 نوفمبر الماضي ، تم تنظيم معرض Avanza Orienta المخصص للموجهين و الموجهات و الأساتذة المسؤولين عن التوجيه و المدراء في المرحلتين الثانوية و البكالوريا، وذلك في قاعة "غاستايز " داخل قصر المؤتمرات "أوروبا " في فيتوريا غاستايز. وقد أتيحت لنا الفرصة،نحن طلاب السنة الأولى من تخصص السياحة، المشاركة كجزء من الفريق، حيث قدمنا خدمات كمنظمين للفعالية.
تضمنت مهامنا توجيه المشاركين من المدخل الرئيسي إلى القاعة المخصصة لإقامة الحدث ،بالاضافة إلى تسجيل الحضور و التحقق من قائمة المشاركين المسجلين مسبقا، كما قمنا بتوجهيهم إلى مساحة آمنة للمشاركين لتخزين أمتعتهم.
و في الختام ، نود ان نتوجه بالشكر الجزيل إلى السيدة راكيل اروازارينا من Ikaslan و شركة Comunicación 2más2 على إتاحة هذه الفرصة لنا للمشاركة و التعرف على العمل الذي يتطلبه تنظيم مثل هذه الفعاليات. لقد سمحت لنا هذه التجربة الرائعة بأن نكون جزءا من فريقهم و ان نتعلم الكثير .
18/11/2024 - CATEDRAL SANTA MARÍA
El pasado lunes, 18 de noviembre, los alumnos de 1º de Grado Superior de Turismo, hemos tenido la oportunidad de recibir una visita guiada en la Catedral de Santa María.
Mirari, nuestra guía, nos explicó muy detalladamente la historia de la catedral, el proceso de su construcción, las reparaciones que ha sufrido, nos enseñó sus diferentes áreas, entre otras cosas igual de importantes como elementos artísticos, o curiosidades de siglos pasados.
Por último, pudimos subir a la torre, pasando por el triforio, y disfrutar de las vistas de Vitoria-Gasteiz desde lo más alto, apreciando así su belleza.
Estamos muy agradecidos con nuestro centro por permitirnos el disfrute de este tipo de salidas, y a Mirari por su excelente trabajo.
18/11/2024 - SANTA MARÍA CATHEDRAL
Last November 18th, we had the opportunity to visit the old cathedral of Santa Maria located in the old town. Our guide, Mirari, explained to us the history of the construction of the cathedral, its crypt, the interior of the cathedral... among many others.
Also, we were able to climb the tower to see the views of the city of Vitoria from the top; the views were incredible, as the sky was clear.
We would like to thank the school for giving us the opportunity to go on this educational trip and also Mirari, for doing her job properly and being close to us.
15/11/2024-VISITA A LA PANADERÍA MAMIA
El pasado 15 de Noviembre, los alumnos de segundo de Turismo visitamos la panadería Mamia en Vitoria-Gasteiz. Durante la visita, aprendimos sobre el proceso de elaboración del pan artesanal, desde la selección de ingredientes naturales hasta el amasado y horneado. Nos explicaron como Mamia utiliza productos locales, promoviendo un comercio más justo y sostenible, creando así productos de alta calidad.
Participamos también en una cata de panes donde probamos distintas variedades. Viendo así sus texturas y sabores, valorando las diferencias entre pan industrial y artesanal. Esta salida formativa nos permitió apreciar el esfuerzo y la dedicación que hay detrás de cada pieza de pan, además de conocer la importancia de apoyar el comercio local. Fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora tanto para aprender como para disfrutar.

15/11/2024- MAMIA BAKERY
On November 15th, the second-year Tourism students visited the Mamia bakery in Vitoria-Gasteiz. During the visit, we learned about the process of making artisanal bread, selecting natural ingredients and baking. They explained how Mamia uses local products, promoting fairer and more sustainable trade, thus creating high-quality products.
We also participated in a bread tasting, where we tried different varieties, observing their textures and flavors and comparing the differences between industrial and artisanal bread. This educational trip allowed us to appreciate the work behind each piece of bread, as well as understand the importance of supporting local products. It was a very enriching experience for both learning and enjoyment.

El pasado 6 de noviembre los alumnos de 1º de Turismo visitamos la Escuela de Hostelería de Gamarra. Al llegar los alumnos de Dirección de Cocina nos dieron un tour por todas las instalaciones, y nosotros les hicimos una presentación en inglés de nuestro ciclo de grado superior de Turismo. Después de un descanso, los alumnos de Servicios de Restauración nos brindaron con otro tour de las instalaciones y nosotros, en cambio, les hicimos la presentación de nuestro ciclo. Una vez finalizados los tours, de la mano de Bea, nos ofreció una charla de protocolo en mesa, la cual pudimos poner en práctica en la comida de después.
Con esto agradecer a los alumnos del ciclo de Servicios que nos sirvieron y nos atendieron durante toda la comida, dándonos un servicio brillante. Además de a los alumnos de Dirección de Cocina y Servicios en Restauración por realizarnos un tour por las instalaciones de Gamarra, a Bea por realizarnos una charla de protocolo, y en especial a Amaia Txapartegi, Jon y Juanjo.

On November 6, the first-year Tourism students had the opportunity to visit the Gamarra School of Hospitality. During our visit, some of the first-year Tourism students presented the higher-level Tourism program in English to students from Culinary Management and Restaurant Services. Similarly, they gave us a tour of their facilities. Additionally, we received a protocol talk from Bea.
We were able to put what we learned from the protocol talk into practice during a meal prepared by the Culinary students.
We would like to thank the students from Culinary Management and Restaurant Services for giving us a tour of the Gamarra facilities, Bea for the protocol talk, and the Culinary and Restaurant Services students, especially Amaia Txapartegi, Jon, and Juanjo.
04/11/2024-VISITA GUIADA EN OÑATI Y ARANTZAZU
El 4 de noviembre, los alumnos de segundo curso nos hicieron una visita guiada a los del primer curso por Oñati y el Santuario de Arantzazu. Salimos de Vitoria y llegamos a Oñati, donde nos dividieron en dos grupos. Primero nos hicieron una visita guiada por Oñati, viendo la Universidad Sancti Spiritu o el monasterio de Bidaurreta, entre otros. En Oñati, el chocolate tiene su importancia, y los alumnos consiguieron probar los chocolates de la mano de la tienda "Txokolateixia". Una vez visto Oñati, subimos al santuario de Arantzazu, donde nos hablaron del santuario y del parque natural de Aizkorri-Aratz.

Le 4 novembre, les étudiants de deuxième année du Tourisme nous ont offert une visite guidée des villes d'Oñati et d'Arantzazu. À notre arrivée à Oñati, nous avons été divisés en deux groupes : le premier groupe nous a fait visiter Oñati et nous a expliqué les différentes ressources de cette ville. Le deuxième groupe a effectué une autre visite guidée du sanctuaire d'Arantzazu, où l'on nous a parlé du sanctuaire et du parc naturel d'Aizkorri-Aratz. Finalement, nous tenons à remercier tous les étudiants de deuxième année pour leurs efforts et leur implication.
04/11/2024-GUIDED TOUR IN OÑATI AND ARANTZAZU
On 4 November, the second-year Tourism students took us on a guided tour of the towns of Oñati and Arantzazu. When we arrived in Oñati, we were split into two groups: the first group gave us a tour of Oñati and explained the town's various resources. The second group took us on another guided tour of the Arantzazu sanctuary, where we were told all about the sanctuary and the Aizkorri-Aratz nature park. Finally, we would like to thank all the second-year students for their efforts and involvement.

El pasado 26 y 27 de octubre, los alumnos de primero de Turismo fuimos voluntarios en el stand de la Wine Run, una carrera y marcha entre viñedos en la Rioja Alavesa. Nuestra función consistió en repartir dorsales a los corredores, camisetas, así como mochilas de merchandising.
El día 27, tuvimos la gran oportunidad de asistir a una bodega a servir vino a los corredores; la bodega se llamaba Viña Salceda.
La bodega tuvo un gran detalle con nosotros, ya que nos regalaron dos botellas de vino a cada uno, una copa personalizada con el logo de la bodega y un abridor.
La experiencia para todos los alumnos fue magnífica. Queremos dar las gracias a Raquel (coordinadora del evento) por darnos la oportunidad de trabajar en un evento y a la bodega de Viña Salceda, por la oportunidad de servir vino y por el detalle que tuvieron con nosotros.

On October the 26th, the first year tourism students volunteered at the winerun stand in the afternoon and handed out bags, bibs, wine glasses...etc.
Afterwards, on October the 27th, we attended the same event in the morning and once the event was over, we went to the Viña Salceda winery to serve wine and address the participants.
To thank us for the work we have done, the winery gave us two bottles of wine, glasses and an opener.
We want to thank Raquel, the organizer of the event and the person who gave us the opportunity to work. In addition, we also want to thank Viña Salceda for the gifts they gave us and for giving us the opportunity to work in their winery.

Les 26 et 27 octobre, nous avons eu la chance de participer au Wine Run. Le premier jour, nous avons distribué des dossards, des sacs à dos, des tasses et des t-shirts aux participants de la marche et de la course. Le deuxième jour, nous avons été présents de 8h30 à 11h pour distribuer des dossards, puis nous avons été emmenés à la cave Viña Salceda où nous avons aidé à servir du vin aux participants. Pour les remercier de leur collaboration, ils ont eu la gentillesse de nous offrir des bouteilles de vin et des verres. C'était vraiment une expérience gratifiante et éducative pour nous tous.
07/10/2024-VISITA GUIADA GASTEIZ OIT
El pasado día 7 de Octubre, el alumnado de 2º curso del Ciclo de Grado Superior de Turismo tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar una visita guiada por Vitoria-Gasteiz, recorriendo sus calles y conociendo toda la historia con la que cuenta la ciudad junto con un guía de la Oficina de Turismo llamado Diego.
La visita comenzó en la Plaza de España; partiendo de ahí visitamos y conocimos la historia de algunos lugares de la ciudad como La Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, La Torre de Otxanda o La Iglesia de San Pedro, entre otros.
Gracias a esta visita pudimos conocer y aprender gran parte de la historia con la que cuenta la ciudad Vitoriana, y se la recomendamos a todo el mundo.
Queremos agradecer al guía, Diego, por la visita que nos realizó y todos los consejos que nos ofreció relacionados con ser los mejores guías turísticos, y también a la Oficina de Turismo de Vitoria-Gasteiz.

On October the 7th the students of the Higher Degree Cycle of Tourism had the opportunity to take a guided tour of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Walking through its streets, we learned all about the history of the city accompanied by a guide from the Tourist Office called Diego.
The visit began in the Plaza de España, from there we visited and learned about the history of some places in the city such as the Virgen Blanca square, the Otxanda tower or the church of San Pedro, among others.
Thanks to this visit, the students got to know and learn much of the history of the city and we recommend it to everyone.
We want to thank the guide Diego for the visit he made to us and for all of the advice he offered us to help us be the best tourist guides we can be. In addition, we also want to thank the Vitoria-Gasteiz Tourist Office.
04/10/2024 - CHARLA DE LAURA SOBRE LOS COROS DE TOLOSA
El 4 de octubre tuvimos el placer de escuchar a nuestra compañera de 2º curso de Turismo, Laura, quien nos habló sobre el Certamen Internacional de Coros que se celebra en Tolosa, Gipuzkoa, y donde colabora como guía acompañante desde los16 años.
En esta charla nos habló sobre sus experiencias durante todos estos años, anécdotas, toda la gente que ha conocido y lo importante que es el conocimiento de idiomas, pero aún más tener don de gentes.
Junto a Laura también pudimos escuchar a Patricia, compañera de 2º de Turismo también, quien el año pasado acompañó a Laura en este certamen y quien este año repetirá por la buena experiencia que tuvo.

Last Friday, October 4, Laura, the student of the second course of Tourism, gave us a talk about the International Choir Competition of Tolosa, in which she has had the opportunity to attend as a guide of both international and national choirs.
During the talk she explained a little about the evolution and what the contest consists of, as well as the different functions she had to perform, such as guiding them in the language, assisting and coordinating the competitions and giving tours. He stated that it is very important to master languages such as English, French or Basque because you are the only reference to guide the choirs.
In addition, her partner Patricia, who also participated as a guide, told us how she lived the experience from her point of view and that it is not necessary to have a high level of English if you are accompanied. In fact, she was delighted and is eager to repeat the experience.
We would like to thank to our second course classmates for giving us this talk about the Tolosa International Choir Contest and for encouraging us to participate in it.

W ubiegły piątek, 4 października, jedna z uczennic naszej szkoły Francisco de Vitoria, Laura, która obecnie uczy sie na drógim roku Szkoły Wyższej w kierunku Turystyki, wygłosiła nam wykład na temat Międzynarodowego Konkursu Chóralnego w Tolosie, na którym miała okazje asystować jako przewodnik towarzyszący chórom. Podczas wykładu opowiedziała nam nieco o ewolucji konkursu, i na czym on polega, także o różnych funkcjach, które musiała wykonać jako przewodnik, takich jak: orientacja językowa, pomoc i koordynacja konkursów oraz organizowanie mini wycieczek. Dodała że bardzo ważne jest, aby biegle posługiwać się językami takimi jak angielski, francuski i baskijski ponieważ podczas pobytu tam jesteśmy ich jedynym punktem odniesienia. Ponadto jej koleżanka Patricia, która również uczestniczyła jako przewodnik, opowiedziała nam, jak przeżyła to doświadczenie z jej punktu widzenia. W rzeczywistości była zachwycona i nie może się doczekać powtórki. Chcieliśmy serdecznie podziękować naszym koleżankom za wygłoszenie referatu na temat Międzynarodowego Konkursu Chóralnego i za zachęcenie nas do wzięcia w nim udziału.

El pasado 25 de septiembre, los alumnos de los Ciclos de Turismo y Mediación Comunicativa tuvimos una charla de tres ex-alumnas que realizaron el Ciclo de Turismo.
Onintza, Isa e Idaira nos visitaron y compartieron con nosotros sus experiencias al finalizar el Ciclo. Isa y Onintza nos explicaron sus prácticas en el Erasmus y sus planes laborales actuales. Asimismo, Idaira nos contó cómo consiguió que una empresa se interesara en hacer visitas guiadas en Vitoria y cómo fue ella la que cogió el mando de esta nueva empresa, siendo un ejemplo de emprendimiento.

Last 25th September, the students of the Tourism and Communication Mediation courses attended a presentation by three former students from the course of Tourism.
Onintza, Isa and Idaira were the students who came and talked about their experiences in the Tourism field, as well as their experience during the Erasmus programme and their plans for the near future. Besides, Idaira talked about how she got a Tourism enterprise interested in doing tours around the city of Vitoria, being an example of entrepreneurship.
We all would like to thank Onintza, Isa and Idaira for coming here and sharing such interesting and important information.
23/9/24-VISITA GUIADA POR EL CENTRO FRANCISCO DE VITORIA
El día 23 de Septiembre, los alumnos de 2º de Turismo organizaron y prepararon una guía para el alumnado de 1º de Turismo por el Centro Francisco de Vitoria. En primer lugar, se presentaron y nos informaron sobre cuál iba a ser la ruta. Seguidamente nos dieron unas indicaciones a seguir y nos enseñaron los Ciclos (al igual que las salidas profesionales que tiene cada uno) de la segunda planta de nuestro edificio, los de la tercera y por último la planta 0. Estamos muy agradecidos y muy satisfechos con la guía, fue muy completa, los alumnos se mostraron muy serviciales y fueron muy profesionales .
23/9/24-GUIDED TOUR THROUGH FRANCISCO DE VITORIA
On the 23rd of September, second-year Tourism students organized and prepared a guide for first-year Tourism students through Francisco de Vitoria. In the first place they introduced themselves and told us what the route was going to be. Then they gave us indications to follow and showed us the cycles (as well as the career opportunities that each cycle has) that are in the second floor of our building.They also did that for the training cycles on the third floor and lastly, floor 0. We are very grateful and satisfied with the route. It was a very complete visit, the students were very helpful and very professional .

بالمسار الذي ستكون عليه الجولة. من ثُم شرعوا بشرح جميع التخصصات و الدورات الموجودة في المعهد و المواد الدراسية التي تحتويها كل دورة بداية من الطابق الثاني ثم الطابق الثالث و أخيراً الطابق الارضي كلٌ على حدة.
نحنُ جد سعيدون بهذه الجولة و ممتنون لذلك ، لقد كانت ثرية بالكثير من المعلومات التي من خلالها تعرّفنا لأول مرة على المعهد الذي ندرسُ به و وقد أظهر الطلاب تعاوناً كبيراً و تصرّفوا بشكل احترافي.

El pasado 13 al 17 de mayo las profesoras de Dietética y Turismo, Laura Zabaleta y Eider Sáez estuvimos en Budapest con la beca Erasmus +. Allí tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar distintos centros educativos del campo del Turismo y Sanidad, y así mismo, hoteles y empresas con los que establecer contacto para que el alumnado pueda realizar las prácticas de Erasmus en el extranjero.
Gracias a Francisco de Vitoria, al equipo de Erasmus del centro y a las personas y entidades que han colaborado. Gracias por brindarnos esta experiencia y tan buenos recuerdos.

From May 13th to 17th, the teachers of Dietetics and Tourism, Laura Zabaleta and Eider Sáez, were in Budapest with the Erasmus + scholarship. There, we had the opportunity to visit some educational institutions in the fields of Tourism and Health, as well as hotels and companies to establish contacts for students to carry out their Erasmus internships abroad.
Thanks to Francisco de Vitoria, the Erasmus team at the institution, and entities that have collaborated. Thank you for providing us with this experience and such wonderful memories.
10/05/2024-EXPOVACACIONES
El pasado viernes 10 de mayo la clase de 1º del ciclo superior de Turismo pudimos acudir a la feria de Expovacaciones que se realiza en el BEC (Bilbao). Es una feria turística que este año se celebró los días 10,11 y 12 de mayo.
En esta feria pudimos conocer varios stands de diferentes lugares tanto de comunidades de España como de América del Sur con el objetivo de conocer sus recursos y promocionar dicho lugar. También había stands de comida, campings o incluso de empresas de alquiler de coches. En cada stand había folletos para saber toda la información promocionada por los trabajadores. Además todos los stand tenían su propia decoración.
Gracias a esta salida hemos podido descubrir muchos lugares, sus recursos y su gastronomía ya que en muchos stands había catas.

10/05/2024 EXPOVACIONES WORKSHOP
Last Friday, May 10th, the 1st-year class of Tourism had the opportunity to attend the Expovacaciones fair held at the BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre). This tourism fair took place on May 10th, 11th, and 12th this year.
At the fair, we were able to explore various stands from different places, both from regions of Spain and from other countries around the world, with the aim of learning about their resources and promoting those destinations. There were also stands offering food tasting and selling different products, campsites, and even car rental companies. Each stand had brochures providing all the information promoted by the staff. Additionally, every stand had its own unique decoration.
Thanks to this excursion, we were able to discover many places, their resources, and their gastronomy, as many stands offered tastings, as said before.

Los días 8 y 9 de mayo, varios estudiantes de primer año de Turismo de la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria llevaron a cabo las Jornadas de Puertas Abiertas, dirigidas a los alumnos interesados en cursar estudios en esta institución. Durante el primer día, las actividades de Puertas Abiertas estuvieron orientadas a aquellos interesados en el Grado Medio, mientras que el segundo día se enfocaron en los interesados en el Grado Superior.
Durante estos dos días, los estudiantes de Turismo asumieron diversas responsabilidades, incluyendo la recepción de los visitantes, la orientación y guía por las instalaciones, y el acompañamiento de los participantes a las aulas y actividades programadas.

08-09/05/2024 - Open House Days
On 8th and 9th May, some of the students of the first year of Tourism did the Open Door Days to the students interested in studying in Francisco de Vitoria. On the first day, the event was directed towards those interested in the Grado Medio programs, while the second day focused on those considering Grado Superior.
During the event, the students of Tourism were responsible for tasks such as greeting the participants at the entrance, guiding them and accompanying them to the classes.
We want to thank the teachers and the headteacher of Francisco de Vitoria for giving us the opportunity.

El pasado viernes 26 de abril, los alumnos de primero de Turismo, en conjunto con los alumnos de Mediación Comunicativa, realizaron unas visitas guiadas por el Itinerario Muralístico de Vitoria-Gasteiz, como parte de una de las erronkas intermodulares.
Durante la visita, los estudiantes pudieron aprender a realizar una visita guiada, dando explicaciones claras y entretenidas, y logrando que fuera sostenible, accesible e inclusiva para todos los públicos, razón por la que asistieron los alumnos de Comunicación, que se encargaron de traducir y signar las explicaciones.
Agradecemos por su colaboración al profesorado y al alumnado de Mediación Comunicativa, ha sido una experiencia gratificante.

On April 26th, the first year tourism students gave a guided tour of the city's murals, with the help of fellow communicative mediation students.
As part of the third trimester erronka, we were given the task to research and develop a guided tour for Vitoria - Gasteiz´s murals (IMVG), with sustainability and inclusivity in mind.
For the first weeks we worked in class, gathering information about the murals and their surroundings, then we gave all of this information that we had gathered to the students from communicative mediation, for them to translate it to sign language.
After a couple of meetings between the students, on the 26th of April, we performed the guided tour to fellow students and to the people that attended the guided tour.
We followed the scheduled route and gave an in depth explanation on the murals.
We want to thank the teachers and students of Communicative Mediation for the great experience.

23-24/04/2024- AVANZA FP FAIR
On April 23rd and 24th, the Avanza fair related to information about Vocational Training Courses was held. It took place at the Europa Congress Palace in Vitoria-Gasteiz, specifically in the Green room, where different stands were set up by Vocational Training Schools from Álava. Any visitor could approach the stand to get information about their preferred course.
We, the Tourism students, had the opportunity to be part of the Avanza team, participating as room hosts. We were responsible for managing entrances and exits of people, as well as for distributing promotional bags with the Avanza logo.
Finally, we want to thank Raquel Arozarena and Susana Sáenz for giving us this learning opportunity and congratulate them for the incredible organization and the good atmosphere.Thank you!
VISITA DE OTROS CENTROS A FRANCISCO DE VITORIA
Los pasados meses de Marzo y Abril los alumnos de primero del Ciclo de Grado Superior de Turismo, fueron los encargados de realizar visitas guiadas a todos los institutos interesados en conocer todos los Ciclos con los que cuenta el IES Francisco de Vitoria. Tanto el alumnado como el profesorado nos proporcionaron explicaciones de sus ciclos tanto lo que realizan en el aula como las salidas que tienen una vez finalizado el ciclo, además de enseñarnos los talleres donde trabajan diariamente.
Agradecemos la implicación tanto del alumnado como del profesorado del Francisco de Vitoria por su implicación en estas visitas guiadas y por todas las explicaciones que tenían que realizar diariamente a los asistentes.
OTHER CENTERS VISIT TO FRANCISCO DE VITORIA
Last March and April, the first year students of the Higher Level Tourism Cycle carried out guided tours to all the high schools and students interested in showing all the courses that Francisco de Vitoria has. They received explanations of every cycle; what they do in the classroom and the outings they have once the cycle is finished; as well as showing us the workshops where they work on a daily basis.
We would like to thank both the students and teachers of Francisco de Vitoria for their involvement in these guided tours and for all the explanations they had to give daily to the attendees.
18/04/2024 - SALINAS DE AÑANA Y CAMPING ROBLE VERDE
El pasado 18 de abril tuvimos una salida a Salinas de Añana, donde nos hicieron una visita guiada por las salinas, explicandonos el proceso de la fabricación de la sal, siendo esta actividad en inglés. Por otro lado, realizamos también una cata de las diferentes sales que se pueden encontrar en este lugar, además de darnos una charla sobre cómo ser guía en esta zona.
Queremos agradecer al guía que nos hizo la ruta, llamado Aritz Zubia, por el rato agradable y entretenido que nos hizo pasar. También dar las gracias a Kristina Arregui, coordinadora de Salinas de Añana.
Ese mismo día, visitamos también el camping de Roble Verde, donde una antigua alumna de Turismo está trabajando. Ella nos hizo un recorrido por el camping, enseñándonos y explicándonos sus instalaciones. También nos explicó las distintas funciones que tienen que realizar los trabajadores de este lugar y la apuesta que hacen por la sostenibilidad.
Con esto queremos agradecer a Irene Gómez que hizo que pasaramos un rato muy agradable y también el conocer este sitio más a fondo, además de agradecer a Santi López el cual es el propietario del camping.
18/04/2024 - SALT VALLEY AND ROBLE VERDE CAMPSITE
Last April 18th, the students of Tourism went to Salinas de Añana, where we were given a guided tour around the salt mines and explained the process of the creation of the salt. This activity was in English. We also did a tasting of the different types of salt found in this place, along with a brief talk on how they work in this place, how to do it ourselves and the advantages of working in this place.
We would like to thank Aritz Zubia for the guided tour. We really enjoyed it. Also, thanks to Kristina Arregui, the coordinator of Salinas de Añana, for the interesting talk she gave us.
On this same day we also visited the Camping of Roble Verde, where an old student of Tourism is currently working. She gave us a tour around the camping, showing and explaining to us its installations. She also explained the different duties she does as a worker in this camp and its compromise with sustainability.
For this tour we want to thank Irene Gomez. It was really interesting getting to know more about this place and we had a really good time. We also want to thank Santi López, the owner of the camp.

El pasado 15 de abril tres alumnos de primero del ciclo de grado superior de turismo y dos compañeros de trabajo de una de las alumnas dieron una charla sobre su experiencia trabajando con personas con diversidad funcional en viajes a Salou, Benidorm y Zamora con la asociación Apdema.
Nos contaron la importancia que tiene dar visibilidad a estas personas y todo lo que les han portado al trabajar con ell@s, incluso los dos compañeros de trabajo de una de las alumnas contaron sus experiencias trabajando en el propio centro de día que tiene la asociación.
Agradecemos a los tres alumnos y a los dos compañeros Irune e Igor que acudieron, por la charla realizada y toda la visibilidad que dieron hacia las personas con diversidad funcional.
On April 15th, three first-year students from the tourism higher education cycle and two colleagues of one of the students gave a talk about their experience working with people with disabilities on trips to Salou, Benidorm, and Zamora with the Apdema association.
They shared the importance of giving visibility to these individuals and everything they have gained from working with them. Even the two colleagues of one of the students shared their experiences working at the association's own day center.
We appreciate the three students and the two colleagues Irune and Igor who attended for the insightful talk and for raising visibility for people with disabilities.
9/04/2024-Salida a la Caral de Santa María
El pasado martes 9 de Abril, los alumnos del primer año del ciclo de grado superior de turismo realizamos una salida formativa a la catedral de Santa Maria.
En ella pudimos observar de cerca todo lo estudiado en el aula y aprender acerca de las distintas fases y reformas por las que ha pasado la catedral, debido tanto al tiempo como a su mala construcción.
Así mismo, tuvimos la oportunidad de subir hasta la zona más alta de la catedral, donde pudimos observar unas espectaculares vistas de la ciudad vitoriana.
Agradecemos a la guía por las explicaciones realizadas y por todo lo que aprendimos en la visita.

On the 9th of April, we, the students of the first year of Turism, went on a guided tour around the Catedral de Santa María, in Gasteiz.
During this visit, we could have a closer view of everything we’ve learned so far in class about guided tours and, of course, see the cathedral and all of its changes throughout the years, either because of the course of time or bad building choices.
Moreover, we had the opportunity to go to the upper part of the building, where the bells are located, and have a look at the gorgeous views the city of Vitoria provides.
Thanks to the guide for the amazing explanations and everything we learnt.

El pasado lunes, 26 de febrero, la ex-alumna del ciclo de Turismo, Irene nos visitó y nos dio una charla sobre su experiencia al finalizar el ciclo. Además, nos explicó las prácticas que realizó en su último año en Francisco de Vitoria y sus posteriores experiencias laborales.
Actualmente se encuentra trabajando en el camping Roble Verde, el que visitaremos igualmente en el mes de abril para conocer cómo funciona este centro y aprender sobre las funciones y labores de la propia Irene.
El alumnado y el profesorado agradecemos a Irene su visita y su charla tan interesante e importante a su vez.

Last Monday, February 26, Irene, a former Tourism student, visited us and talked about her experience after finishing her studies. She shared about the internships she did in her last year at Francisco de Vitoria and her subsequent work experiences.
Currently, she is working at Roble Verde camping site, which we will also visit in April to understand how it operates and learn more about Irene's responsibilities.
Both students and teachers appreciate Irene for her visit and the interesting and important talk she gave us.

El pasado lunes, día 19 de febrero, el compañero de primer curso, Nikolas Quintano, y la compañera de segundo año, Onintza Marcaide, nos dieron una charla sobre su experiencia laboral en Fitur, una feria de turismo internacional que se celebra cada enero en el recinto de Ifema (Madrid).
Nos contaron información a tener en cuenta sobre su rutina diaria allí, y en particular, sobre los distintos puestos de trabajo donde estuvieron colaborando junto a los profesionales del sector. Una de sus principales tareas era informar a los visitantes sobre los recursos turísticos más populares y las actividades que estos demandaban.
Por último queremos agradecer tanto a Niko como a Onintza por toda la información que nos promocionaron de la feria y a BASQUETOUR por darnos la oportunidad otro año más de asistir a Fitur e introducirnos al mundo laboral.

Last Monday, February 19, the first year classmate, Nikolas Quintano, and the second-year colleague, Onintza Marcaide, gave us a talk about their work experience at Fitur. An international tourism fair that is held every January in the Ifema enclosure (Madrid).
They told us information to take into account about their daily routine there, and in particular, about the different jobs where they were collaborating with the professionals of the sector. One of its main tasks was to inform visitors about the most popular tourist resources and the activities they demanded.
Finally, we want to thank both Niko and Onintza for all the information they promoted us about the fair and BASQUETOUR for giving us the opportunity another year to attend Fitur and introduce themselves to the world of work.

El pasado 29 de febrero los estudiantes de 1º de Turismo hemos realizado una visita guiada en inglés de 1 hora en el Museo Artium la cual fue impartida por la propia guía del museo, Andrea.
Al iniciar el recorrido, en el vestíbulo, pudimos observar el trabajo del autor Javier Pérez y su obra “Un pedazo de cielo cristalizado”. Por otro lado, en la planta baja, observamos obras de arte tanto de artistas del País Vasco como, por ejemplo, Eduardo Chillida, como de artistas internacionales como lo es la colombiana Carolina Caycedo.
Durante todo el recorrido, Andrea nos explicó los pasos que tenemos que seguir a la hora de hacer una visita guiada y nos dio consejos para llevar a cabo de mejor manera la visita.
Agradecemos al museo Artium y sobre todo a nuestra guía, Andrea Ríos, por esta visita tan amena y por sus consejos.
2024/02/29- ARTIUM MUSEUM
Today, the students of the 1st year of Tourism went to the Artium Museum from 11:30 to 12:30. When we arrived, the guide, Andrea, gave us a talk in English about rules and advice when giving a tour in a museum: how to address someone depending on their ages, the behavior to follow when people are taking photos and don’t listen…
Then, we saw some of the exhibited works of art. First, the international ones, with the works of Carolina Caycedo.
To finish, Andrea took us to the other part of the museum, where we can find the works of art of some Basque artists as Eduardo Chillida or Agustín Ibarrola.
We would like to thank the Artium Museum and especially our guide Andrea Ríos, for showing us the museum and taking her time to teach us more about the work of a guide.

El pasado día 21 de Febrero de 2024 tuvimos una salida al hotel Marqués de Riscal situado en El Ciego (La Rioja Alavesa).
Nos hicieron una visita guiada por sus bodegas explicándonos su forma de trabajar también los viñedos, los espacios para eventos que tienen por último sus instalaciones del hotel, tanto como sus 2 restaurantes, la biblioteca, spa y gimnasio.
De esta manera agradecemos a todo el equipo de Marques de Riscal por la visita y en especial a Feng Lin Shao, exalumno del Ciclo de Turismo que nos ha conseguido la visita, Vanesa Ríos, la guía de la bodega y Esther Morales y Elisabet Casals, anfitrionas del hotel.

On February 21th, the students of Tourism had the opportunity to visit the hotel of Marqués de Riscal located in Elciego (Álava).
We received a guide tour of the wineries, explaining how they work there. We see the vineyards and also the space they use to do events. At the end of the visit we were able to enter the hotel and see its facilities, the two restaurants, the library, the spa and gym.
We found this experience unforgettable and we are grateful to the guides Vanesa Ríos, Esther Morales and Elisabet Casals and to Marques de Riscal for this beautiful visit. Special thanks to Feng Lin Shao, a former Francisco de Vitoria student, who arranged the visit for us.

El pasado miércoles, 7 de febrero de 2024, los alumnos de 2º de Turismo de Francisco de Vitoria participaron en una visita guiada realizada por nuestra compañera Amaia Junguitu, la cual nos hizo una visita guiada tematizada por Vitoria -Gasteiz.
La visita estaba relacionada con el tema del 3 de marzo y por ello los recursos que se visitaron fueron, la Iglesia de San Francisco de Asís, el mural del 3 de marzo y la escultura “La fuerza de la Razón”. Tras realizar la visita guiada volvimos a clase.
Queremos agradecer a nuestra compañera Amaia Junguitu, por darnos a conocer un poco más de lo sucedido aquel día en nuestra ciudad.
02/07/2024 GUIDED VISIT OF AMAIA
Last Wednesday February 7, 2024, the 2nd year Tourism students of Francisco de Vitoria participated in a guided tour delivered by our colleague Amaia Junguitu, who gave us a thematic guided tour of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The visit was related to the theme of March 3, which is a really interesting topic, to get to know more about the history of Vitoria-Gasteiz, so the resources we visited were the Church of San Francisco de Asís, the March 3 mural and the sculpture “The Force of Reason”, where she explained us about the tragedy of March 3. After taking the guided tour we returned to class.
We want to thank our colleague Amaia Junguitu for telling us more about what happened that day in our city and how important it is to know about it.
02/02/2024-CHARLA DE MIREYA IZQUIERDO
El día 2 de febrero, el alumnado de 2° turismo ha tenido el gusto de recibir a Mireya Izquierdo, quien nos brindó una charla fascinante sobre su experiencia laboral en el ámbito hotelero. Mireya compartió con nosotros detalles interesantes sobre su trayectoria, desde sus prácticas en el Hotel Arriaga hasta su actual rol en el Hotel Ibis, donde se encarga de la preparación de desayunos para los huéspedes aparte de sus labores en el Front office haciendo el Check In y Check Out.
Durante la charla, Mireya destacó la importancia de la formación continua, mencionando que se desplazó hasta Madrid para realizar cursos ofrecidos por el hotel, enriqueciendo así sus habilidades y conocimientos. Además, nos reveló sus planes de futuro, expresando su interés por estudiar Organización de eventos y fusionar estos conocimientos con su vida laboral en el hotel. Aunque no estaba muy segura de si hacerlo por estar cómoda trabajando en el hotel.
Uno de los puntos clave de la presentación fue el énfasis de Mireya en la paciencia hacia los clientes, subrayando su importancia en el servicio al cliente. Además, nos sorprendió al compartir que, además de su formación hotelera, es entrenadora de baile rítmico, una faceta apasionante que la ha conectado con su actual empleo.
Agradecemos a Mireya por compartir sus experiencias y motivarnos a seguir nuestras metas con determinación y pasión.
02/02/2024- MIREYA IZQUIERDO's TALK
On day 2 of February 2023, the 2nd year tourism students had the pleasure of receiving Mireya Izquierdo, who gave us a fascinating talk about her work experience in the hotel field. Mireya shared with us interesting details about her career, from her internship at the Arriaga Hotel to her current role at the Ibis Hotel, where she is in charge of preparing breakfast for guests and, in addition to her work in the Front Office, doing Check In and The Exit.
During the talk, Mireya highlighted the importance of continuous training, mentioning that she traveled to Madrid to take courses offered by the hotel, thus enriching her skills and knowledge. In addition, she revealed his future plans to us, expressing his interest in studying events and merging this knowledge with her work life at the hotel. Although she wasn't very sure about doing it because she was comfortable working in the hotel.
One of the key points of the presentation was Mireya's emphasis on patience towards customers, underscoring its importance in customer service. In addition, she surprised us by sharing that, in addition to her hotel training, she is a rhythmic dance coach, an exciting facet that has connected her with her current job.
We thank Mireya for sharing her experiences and motivating us to follow our goals with determination and passion.

Del 23/01/2024 al 29/01/2024 el alumno de primero, Nikolas Quintano, y la alumna de segundo, Onintza Markaide, tuvieron la oportunidad de ir a la Feria de Fitur a trabajar en el stand de Euskadi Basque Country.
Fitur es una feria que se realiza todos los años en Ifema, Madrid. Donde la mayoría de países del mundo y todas las comunidades autónomas de España se promocionan turísticamente. También acuden empresas, como Amadeus, además de aerolíneas y hoteles. Allí, Niko y Onintza estuvieron trabajando en el stand de Euskadi para promocionar el País Vasco. El stand estaba dividido en seis partes, al principio estaba el mostrador de información general donde los dos alumnos estuvieron trabajando, y después se encontraban las oficinas de turismo de las capitales de provincia, es decir, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Donostia- San Sebastián y Bilbao, parte de la Rioja Alavesa y Costa y montes Vascos.
Fue una experiencia inolvidable, en la que aprendieron mucho y se lo pasaron muy bien. Para terminar queremos agradecer a Basquetour y en especial a Marta Inza, responsable de Fitur con la formación del alumnado de FP y a Beni Saizar, profesora de Zubiri Manteo.

From 23/01/2024 to 29/01/2024 the first year student, Nikolas Quintano and the second year student, Onintza Markaide had the opportunity to work in the stand of Euskadi Basque Country in Fitur.
Fitur is a fair that takes place every January in Madrid, specifically in the area of Ifema. There, most of the world countries and the autonomous communities of Spain promote themselves in terms of tourism. Companies (such as Amadeus), airlines and hotels also attend the fair to present new programmes or products. Niko and Onintza were working on the Euskadi Basque Country stand to promote the region. This stand was divided into seven parts; the general information desk where the two students were working, and five desks devoted to Vitoria-Gasteiz, Donostia-San Sebastian, Bilbao, Rioja Alavesa, Basque coast, and the Basque mountains.
In general, it was an unforgettable experience in which the students learned a lot while having a great time. Finally, we would like to thank Basquetour and especially Marta Inza, responsible for Fitur with the training of the VET students, as well as Beni Saizar, teacher of Zubiri Manteo.
19/01/2024 CHARLA BASQUETOUR
El pasado viernes 19 de enero disfrutamos de la visita de Iker Urcelay, técnico de turismo de Basquetour y responsable de la promoción. Tras estudiar geografía, se unió al grupo Basquetour. Su principal objetivo es poner en marcha proyectos turísticos. Durante la charla se centró en la naturaleza, concretamente en el ecoturismo, el cicloturismo, etc. Nada más empezar la charla nos entregó diferentes folletos, donde se explican las rutas, recursos naturales, turismo histórico, industrial, etc. Vino unos días antes de la feria Fitur y nos explicó y mostró varios proyectos que allí se presentarán, GRANDTOUR, la nueva campaña de este año. También el nuevo proyecto LGBT. Gracias a Iker Urcelay en nombre de todos los alumnos.
19/01/2024 - BASQUETOUR TALK
Last Friday, 19th January, we enjoyed the visit of Iker Urcelay, Basquetour's tourism technician, in charge of the promotion. After studying geography, he joined the Basquetour group. His main objective is to set up tourism projects. In his talk, he focused on nature, specifically on ecotourism, cycle tourism, etc. Right at the start, he handed out different brochures that showed the tours, the natural resources, the historical resources, industrial tourism, etc. This happened a few days before the Fitur fair and he showed us several projects that will be exhibited and presented at the fair, GRANDTOUR, the new campaign for this year. Also, he talked about the new LGTB project.
We thank Basquetour and Iker Urcelay for talking to us about their projects and ways to be better at promotion in tourism.
09/01/2024 - VISITA A LA OIT + OMIJ
El día 9 de Enero, los estudiantes de segundo año de Turismo, visitamos la Oficina de Turismo de Vitoria-Gasteiz, siendo asesorados por los trabajadores, a los cuales le realizamos diversas preguntas y nuestras dudas fueron resueltas de manera efectiva por los exponentes. Se explicó los trabajos realizados en la oficina, el tipo de cliente que acude a buscar información y las épocas en las que más público tiene.
También nos describieron el tipo de trabajo con el que se relaciona la OIT, como lo sería promocionar eventos de la ciudad, festivales, actividades, entre otro tipo de eventos. Y por último se hicieron preguntas sobre experiencias al trabajar en la oficina de turismo, los tipos de problemas que se pueden presentar y sus posibles soluciones, junto a curiosidades y consejos para la gente interesada en trabajar en la OIT.
Al terminar, nos dirigimos a la Oficina Municipal de Información Joven, en donde se nos informó sobre el tipo de trabajo que se realiza, los tipos de ayuda que pueden facilitar, los cursos disponibles para todas las edades y los beneficios que se obtienen al registrarse y obtener la Gazte-txartela.
Se explicaron las salas de la OMIJ, como la biblioteca, que fue el lugar donde se dio la charla y de manera detallada se nos informó de qué tipos de contenidos podemos encontrar. Luego realizaron una dinámica para reforzar los conocimientos dados en la charla y se otorgó un premio a los ganadores de la actividad hecha.

On the 9th of January, the second year tourism students visited the Vitoria-Gasteiz Tourist Office, being advised by its workers, to whom we asked several questions and our doubts were solved in an effective way by the speakers. They explained the work carried out in the office, the type of customer who comes to look for information and the times of the year when the office is most visited.
They also described the type of work the OIT is involved in, such as promoting city events, festivals, activities, among other types of events. Finally, questions were asked about experiences of working in the tourism office, the types of problems that can occur and possible solutions, along with curiosities and tips for people interested in working at the OIT.
Afterwards, we went to the Municipal Youth Information Office, where we were
informed about the type of work they do, the types of help they can provide, the courses available for all ages and the benefits of registering and obtaining the Gazte-txartela.
The rooms of the OMIJ were explained, such as the library, which was the place where the talk was given, and we were given a detailed explanation of the types of content we can find. Then they did a dynamic to reinforce the knowledge given in the talk and a prize was awarded to the winners of the activity.
21/12/23-11/01/24-12/01/24 LENGUA DE SIGNOS
Los días 21 de diciembre del 2023, 11 y 12 de enero de 2024 los alumnos de curso del Ciclo de Mediación Comunicativa: Natxo Olabarria, Aimar Gartzia, Dounia Martinitz y Elaia López impartieron 6 horas de taller de lengua de signos y sensibilización con la cultura sorda a los alumnos de segundo curso de Turismo.
En el taller, enseñaron el alfabeto dactilológico de manera interactiva por medio de actividades dinámicas y cómo expresarse con la lengua de signos, especialmente en relación al turismo. Dieron a conocer teoría y mitos, cómo actuar con aquellas personas junto con algunas recomendaciones.
Muchas gracias a los alumnos de Mediación Comunicativa y al profesorado Asun Celaya y Amaia Telleria por la formación recibida, fue una experiencia muy amena y entretenida.
21/12/23-11/01/24-12/01/24 SING LANGUAGE
On 21 December 2023, 11 and 12 January 2024, the first year students of the Communication Mediation Vocational Training Studies: Natxo Olabarria, Aimar Gartzia, Dounia Martinitz and Elaia López gave us a 6-hour workshop on sign language, and awareness of deaf culture to the second year students of Tourism.
In the workshop, they taught the alphabet in an interactive way by means of dynamic activities, how to express oneself with sign language, especially related to tourism. We were introduced to theory and myths, how to act with deaf people along with some recommendations.
Many thanks to the students of Communicative Mediation and to the teachers Asun Celaya and Amaia Telleria for the training received, it was a very enjoyable and entertaining experience.
18/12/2023- VISITA GUIADA A GERNIKA PARA 1º
El pasado lunes 18 de diciembre los alumnos de segundo curso nos hicieron una visita guiada por Gernika, dividiéndonos en tres grupos y viendo diferentes recursos de esta ciudad. En el caso del grupo 2, la visita fue de entre 1:30 y 2 horas y vimos diferentes lugares como el frontón Jai-Alai, continuando por el mercado, un refugio del bombardeo, el famoso árbol de Gernika, la Iglesia de Santa María y finalmente el famoso mural copia del cuadro de Pablo Picasso, el “Guernica”.
18/12/2023- GUIDED TOUR OF GERNIKA
Last Monday, December 18, the second-year students gave us a guided tour of Gernika, dividing us all into three groups and seeing different resources of this town. In the case of group 3, the visit lasted between 1,5 and 2 hours and we saw different places such as Foru plaza, where the cultural center and statue of Don Tello are located, continuing along the street to the Andra Maria church. We also visited the famous mural, inspired by the painting of Pablo Picasso "Gernika". Then, we went directly to “Parque de los pueblos de Europa”, where the sculptures by Henry Moore and Eduardo Chillida are found. Right on the way to the Assembly House, which is a meeting room with a colored roof, we saw the famous old tree of Gernika and also the new one. It was a good experience and we would like to thank the second-year students and the teachers who have passionately attended this trip.
1/12/2023 PRESENTACIÓN CORREDOR ECOTURISMO DE LA ESPAÑA VERDE
El pasado 1 de diciembre las profesoras Nerea Fdz. de Ortega Larruzea y Eider Sáez Rubio, del ciclo de Turismo, IES Francisco de Vitoria, tuvimos la suerte de asistir a la presentación del Corredor de Ecoturismo de la España Verde, al que asistieron Jesús María García de Cos, Viceconsejero de Turismo, Iker Urcelay de Basquetour y representantes de asociaciones y empresas del sector turístico.
Bajo la marca “España verde” se presentó un corredor turístico de espacios naturales que discurren por las 4 CCAA de la cornisa cantábrica.
Fue un privilegio que contaran con nosotros una vez más para poder estar al tanto de los productos turísticos que se implementan así como de las tendencias y novedades en el sector, queremos agradecerles muy especialmente nos brindaran la oportunidad de asistir.
1/12/2023 “ESPAÑA VERDE” ECOTURISM CORRIDOR PRESENTATION
Last 1st of december, the two teachers of Tourism, Nerea Fdz de Ortega Larruzea and Eider Sáez Rubio, have the opportunity to attend to the presentation of the “España Verde” ecotourism corridor. Tourism counselor, Jesús María García de Cos, Iker Urcelay from Basquetour and different companies and associations of the sector attend.
Under the brand “España Verde” this initiative joined 4 communities of the north of Spain with several protected natural spaces,through which it runs the corridor.
We want to thank them for gave us the opportunity once again to attend and stay up to date of the trends and the products implemented in the Tourism field.
28/11/2023 COMIDA EN GAMARRA
Los estudiantes del grado de Turismo el día 28 de noviembre, hemos asistido a la Escuela de Hostelería Gamarra, en donde Amaia Txapartegi nos ha brindado un recorrido por las instalaciones acompañado de los gustosos olores de la cocina.
Durante nuestra visita, también tuvimos la ocasión de dar una charla en inglés explicando nuestro grado de Turismo y de igual manera los estudiantes de Gamarra nos expusieron su curso. Luego recibimos una charla de protocolo en la mesa de la mano de Danel Mujika. Pusimos en práctica la teoría disfrutando de la comida preparada por los alumnos del grado de Cocina de Gamarra dirigida por el jefe de cocina Asier González.
Agradecemos al personal y alumnos de Gamarra por esta grata experiencia y en especial a Amaia Txapartegi, Danel Mujika y Asier González.
28/11/2023 MEAL IN GAMARRA
The Tourism students went to the Gamara Cooking School on November 28. When we arrived, we were greeted by the cooking professors and guided through the modern and well-equipped facilities of the school. The aromas of the fresh foods were floating in the air, making the atmosphere somehow edible!
Amaia Txapartegi was our coordinator for the guided tour in English. She explained how the dishes were cooked, the study options in Gamarra and introduced us to different students.
After that, the Tourism students gave another talk to the Gamarra students about our superior grade and vice versa.
When we were finished with the tours, Danel Mujika offered us a protocol at the table talk: he explained how the cutlery should be placed, the number of plates and their names... anything that we needed to understand about eating at the table properly, ending with the practical part of the talks with a high quality meals from the kitchen of Asier González.
We want to thank the wonderful teachers and coordinators, Amaia Txapartegi, Danel Mujika and Asier González for the warm invitation to your school. We are truly grateful for this opportunity to visit and learn from you.
The Gamarra Cooking School not only provided practical skills, but also an enriching experience that will be etched in our culinary memories, we are wishing to return!
EL CICLO DE TURISMO EN ÁMSTERDAM (Semana del 20 de noviembre de 2023)
Esta semana de noviembre, la profesora Nerea Fz de Ortega Larruzea, del Ciclo de Turismo del IES Francisco de Vitoria se trasladó a Ámsterdam para participar en las actividades organizadas por TRIBE NL. Esta posibilidad de viajar a Ámsterdam se ha dado gracias a la movilidad que Erasmus+ ofrece para el profesorado.
A esta actividad acudieron también otros profesores de Turismo y Hostelería y responsables Erasmus de diferentes comunidades autónomas, como de Madrid, Gijón, Valencia y Segovia.
Dichas actividades estaban enfocadas a proporcionar a nuestro alumnado prácticas en la recepción de los hoteles en Países Bajos.
Es por ello que el programa incluyó visitas a diferentes hoteles, para conocer de primera mano las empresas donde nuestro alumnado podría desarrollar sus prácticas.
Por otra parte, el programa también incluyó la visita a la Escuela de Hostelería y Turismo de Ámsterdam (ROC van Amsterdam MBO College Centrum), lo que amplía que se pueda trabajar en materia educativa sobre Turismo a nivel internacional, así como colaborar con su profesorado en diversos proyectos europeos.
Además, Nerea se puso en contacto con diferentes empresas de guías con el objetivo final de que el alumnado también puede realizar las prácticas en este tipo de empresas.
TOURIST GUIDES, INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE IN AMSTERDAM (NOVEMBER 2023)
This week in November, Tourism teacher Nerea Fz de Ortega Larruzea, from IES Francisco de Vitoria travelled to Amsterdam to participate in the activities organized by TRIBE NL.
This possibility of traveling to Amsterdam has been due to the mobility that Erasmus+ offers for teachers.
Other teachers and Erasmus coordinators from different autonomous communities, such as from Madrid, Gijón, Valencia and Segovia, also attended these activities.
These activities were focused on providing our students with internships at the front office in hotels in the Netherlands.
That is why the programme included visits to different hotels, to see first-hand the companies where our students could develop their internships.
On the other hand, the programme also included a visit to the Amsterdam School of Hospitality and Tourism (ROC van Amsterdam MBO College Centrum), which expands the possibility of working on educational matters about Tourism at an international level, as well as collaborating with its teaching staff in various European projects.
In addition, Nerea contacted different guide companies with the final objective that the students can also do their internships in these type of companies.
29/11/2023-MUSEO BIBAT
El 24 de Noviembre los alumnos de primero de Turismo fuimos al Museo de Arqueología de Álava y al Museo Fournier de Naipes, conocidos como Bibat. En esta salida formativa, Isabel Buesa nos hizo una guía por el museo de arqueología, contándonos sobre la Prehistoria hasta el día de hoy. También fue la que nos explicó cómo era el trabajo de un guía. Para terminar la visita pasamos al museo de naipes donde otra guía procedió a explicarnos la historia de los naipes, las técnicas empleadas, etc.
Queremos agradecer a Isabel Buesa por las explicaciones y por enseñarnos un poco más sobre el trabajo como guías, aprendimos mucho con esta salida.
29/11/2023-BIBAT MUSEUM
Last 24th November, the students from the first year of Tourism went to the Bibat Museum, where both the Archeology Museum of Álava and the Naipes Museum are located. There, Isabel Buesa gave us a tour round the archeology museum, giving us not only a step on the Prehistory, but also an explanation of the work of a guide and how to manage a guided tour correctly. To finish, another guide gave us a brief tour round the Naipes Museum, where we had a short view over the history of these cards.
We want to sincerely thank the guides for guiding us through the different museums and showing us how to manage a guided tour ourselves. We really appreciate it.
GASTRONOMÍA Y FOLCLORE
Los alumnos de primero del Ciclo de Grado Superior de Turismo realizamos la pasada semana una parte de la última erronka propuesta, que consistía en ejecutar una presentación de gastronomía y folclore del país o región seleccionada por cada grupo.
Fue un reto en el cuál cada grupo se metió completamente en el papel de los ciudadanos de cada país vistiéndose con ropa tradicional, trayendo recetas típicas o realizando danzas tradicionales. Los países seleccionados por los grupos fueron Honduras, Nepal, República Dominicana y la región de Lacio.
Para finalizar realizamos una merendola con comida tradicional de la región de Lacio como pueden ser los gnocchi o roscas de vino y de Honduras.
GASTRONOMY AND FOLKLORE PRESENTATIONS
Between the days of 30th and 31st of October, the four groups of the 1st year of Tourism, presented their gastronomy and folklore parts of the “Traveling around the World “ task.
The challenge consisted of explaining and transmitting information about the typical dishes and traditional dances of Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nepal and the region of Lazio. It was such an interesting session where we learned about the traditions and the culinary habits of those places and we laughed a lot watching how the groups recreated their classical dances.
After performing the presentations correctly, all the groups share a time together tasting the typical foods of each country and region, moreover, the teachers also brought some sweet snacks. Thus, after carrying out the Erronka successfully we all went home happy and full, as we ate all the Italian, Dominican, Nepalese and Honduran food.

Este curso 2023/2024, hemos tenido la oportunidad de participar como guías acompañantes en el Certamen Anual Coral Internacional de Tolosa, acompañando durante una semana al coro Megaron de Eslovenia.
Hemos coordinado al grupo, tanto durante su competición, como en su tour por diferentes comunidades pasando por Aragón, Navarra y País Vasco.
Nosotras nos quedamos con una bonita experiencia, nuevos amigos, y ganas de repetir el año que viene, de esta manera agradecemos a todos, en especial al CIT y a Xabier Ormazabal, por esta oportunidad.

31/10/2023 CHOIR OF TOLOSA
This school year 2023/2024 we have had the opportunity to take part as guides on the Annual Choral Competition of Tolosa accompanying the Slovenian choir Megaron for a week.
We coordinated the group for the competition as well as during the tour around different destinations through Aragon, Navarra and the Basque Country.
From this experience, we bring home new friends and adventures. We are looking forward to taking part in it again next year. With all this said, we thank everyone involved and distinctly the CIT and Xabier Ormazabal, for this opportunity.

15/11/2023-CHARLA DE DOS EX ALUMNAS
El día 15 de noviembre de 2023, las ex alumnas Estela Carrasco y Eider Ortuondo dieron una charla a los alumnos de 1 º y 2º de Turismo sobre sus experiencias de Erasmus en Budapest. Ambas hicieron sus prácticas en el Hotel Budapest Center de la cadena hotelera Eurostars y mencionaron que aunque al principio hubo algunas dificultades, lograron adaptarse y llevar a cabo sus tareas como por ejemplo el check-in, check-out, aprenderse todas las habitaciones del hotel que son aproximadamente 92, y realizar casi todo lo que hace un trabajador de hotel.
A las dos ex alumnas se les propuso quedarse trabajando para verano y con contrato indefinido. Actualmente, Eider se encuentra en Bilbao estudiando Gestión de Marketing, mientras que Estela continúa trabajando en Budapest y pretende quedarse al menos un año para pedir traslado, ya que la cadena le ofrece un contrato en cualquiera de sus hoteles.

15/11/2023 FORMER STUDENT'S TALKS
On 15 November 2023, former students Estela Carrasco and Eider Ortuondo gave a talk to the 1st and 2nd year students of Tourism about their Erasmus experiences in Budapest. They both did their internships at the Budapest Center Hotel of the Eurostars hotel chain and mentioned that, although at the beginning there were some difficulties, they managed to adapt and carry out their tasks, such as check in-check out, learn all the rooms of the hotel which are approximately 92 and do almost everything a worker does.
The two former students were offered a job for the summer with a permanent contract. Eider is currently in Bilbao studying Marketing Management, while Estela is still working in Budapest and intends to stay at least one year to apply for a transfer.
Thanks to Estela Carrasco and Eider Ortuondo for sharing their experiences and knowledge with the students who are still in their first and second year of Tourism.
09/11/2023-VISITA GUIADA DE GASTEIZ A ALUMNADO DE BILBO
El día 9 de noviembre, el alumnado de 2º de Turismo, ha organizado una visita guiada temática por la ciudad de Vitoria-Gasteiz. Esta actividad fue elaborada y dirigida a los alumnos de Bilbao, con el objetivo de brindarles la oportunidad de conocer y explorar los encantos de esta ciudad. La visita guiada ha sido cuidadosamente planificada por nuestros estudiantes, quienes han trabajado arduamente para diseñar un recorrido que destaque los aspectos más relevantes de Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Durante la jornada, los alumnos de Bilbao han tenido la oportunidad de apreciar la riqueza histórica, cultural, arquitectónica y de naturaleza y espacios verdes de esta ciudad.El alumnado de 2º de Turismo demostró un gran compromiso, entusiasmo y organización de esta visita guiada. Estando seguros de la dedicación que se vio volcada en este trabajo grupal. Además, asistieron profesores de Bilbao, quienes nos acompañaron por todo el recorrido.
Agradecemos la colaboración del alumnado de Bilbao por la participación en esta actividad y confiamos que esta visita guiada por Vitoria-Gasteiz haya sido una experiencia educativa, tanto para los alumnos de Bilbao como para los propios guías, para ampliar sus conocimientos sobre el patrimonio cultural y turístico de Vitoria-Gasteiz. Eskerrik asko al alumnado y profesorado de Bilbo por haberos dejado guiar en esta aventura.
09/11/2023-GUIDED VISIT FROM GASTEIZ TO BILBAO STUDENTS
On November 9, the 2nd year Tourism students did a thematic guided tour of the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz. This activity was presented to the students of Bilbao, with the purpose of giving them the opportunity to learn and explore the resources, curious facts and places of interest of the city.
The guided tour has been organized and planned by our students, who have worked hard to make sure that the tour shows the most interesting and surprising aspects of Vitoria-Gasteiz. During the visit, the Bilbao students had the opportunity to appreciate the culture, history, and architecture of the city, along with its nature and green spaces, highlighting the green capital.
The 2nd year Tourism visitors cooperated with their enthusiasm and order in this guided tour. The teachers from Bilbao also attended, who were part of the entire tour. The collaboration of these Bilbao students is appreciated for their participation in this activity. Hoping that this guided tour of Vitoria-Gasteiz has been a very educational experience, endowed with knowledge for the students of Elorrieta Erreka Mari from Bilbao, showing the cultural and tourist heritage of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

19/10/2023 - Visita Guiada a Vitoria-Gasteiz
El dia 19 de Octubre, el alumnado del 2º de Guía, Información y Asistencias Turísticas (GIAT) ha recibido una visita guiada recorriendo el impresionante casco antiguo de Vitoria-Gasteiz de la mano de un guía excelente de la Oficina de Turismo llamado Diego, un historiador apasionado que compartió increíbles historias sobre el casco antiguo contando experiencias y datos que llamaban la atención del alumnado.
Un recorrido grato iniciado en la Plaza de España que, a pesar de los contratiempos inducidos por las precipitaciones climáticas de ese día, la visita fue llevada con normalidad hasta el final, frente de la Iglesia San Miguel, con la bonita historia de Celedon. Como un plus del recorrido, la alumna Isabel Marrón, realizó una explicación en la Casa del Cordón mostrando una excelente capacidad como guía.
Tras esta grata visita, el alumnado ha llegado a conocer mucho más de la historia de la ciudad conociendo sus calles, iglesias y mejor sus tradiciones, así como el trabajo de guía.
Para finalizar, queremos agradecer a la Oficina de Turismo de Vitoria-Gasteiz y a Clara Navas y en especial, al guía Diego Torrico de la empresa Sedena por la visita realizada.
On October 19th of 2023, the second-year students of Tourism (GIAT) took part in a guided tour through the impressive old town of Vitoria-Gasteiz led by an excellent guide from the tourist office named Diego.
Diego is a passionate historian who shared incredible stories surrounding the entire old town, recounting experiences and providing fascinating facts that captured the students' attention.
It was an enjoyable journey, from the beginning in Plaza de España the tour proceeded smoothly until the end, which concluded in front of the Church of San Miguel, accompanied by the lovely story of Celedon.
As a valuable addition to the tour, student Isabel Marrón conducted a brief tour of the Casa del Cordón, showcasing her excellent skills.
In conclusion, thanks to this pleasant visit, the students came to know much more about the history of the city, becoming acquainted with its streets, churches, and traditions, gaining a deeper understanding of the role of a guide and the nature of their work.

El lunes 11 de enero de 2021, nuestras compañeras Sara y Cristina nos hicieron una charla relacionada con el turismo y los videojuegos; en la que nos explicaron la relación que existe entre ellas.
Nos contaron que muchos de los videojuegos están basados en lugares de la vida al y por lo tanto hay personas que se dedican a explorar esos sitios tanto en la vida virtual como en la vida real. Además, nos comentaron que este mundo virtual mueve mucho dinero y muchas personas por todo el mundo, ya que se hacen muchas convenciones relacionadas con los videojuegos. Pero lo que más nos impactó a todos los oyentes fue que nos descubrieron el primer parque temático basado en “Mario Bros”, un juego de la infancia para muchos.
