An important milestone has been produced in the definition of the optical system of PhotSat mission. On May 28th, ASE Optics Europe, the company in charge of the optical system of the mission has passed the Preliminary Design Review.

During the PDR event, ASE optics presented the proposed technical design of both the visible and ultraviolet telescopes. This includes the lens configuration in order to guarantee the technical requirements of the mission in order to allow a good image quality in all the focal plane and at different temperature and vacuum conditions. These condition should be guaranteed at the same time that all mechanical and environmental space conditions ina 16U cubesat platform are ensured.
From the IEEC PhotSat mission, the project office (project manager and project scientist and engineer) of the project was evaluating the proposals from ASE optics in order to ensure its convenience for PhotSat mission.
