2022-2023

Franklin Parish PEBT FAQ's

1.  Who is eligible for benefits?

For the 2022-2023 school year, the school itself must qualify by having a student with 5 consecutive COVID days before any students enrolled in that school qualify.  Franklin Parish Schools had no students with 5 consecutive absences due to COVID.  We also had no students who were considered virtual due to COVID.  Therefore, no Franklin Parish students qualify for the 2022-2023 school year.

However, ALL STUDENTS enrolled at least 1 day in the month of May will qualify for summer benefits.

2.  My student is learning virtually/at home.  Are they eligible?

No.  For this school year, district policy dictated that no student would be virtual due to COVID.

3.  When will I receive my benefits?

2023 Summer benefits will be issued late July 2023.

4.  I did not keep my card from last year.  What do I do?

If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, a new one can be requested through the P-EBT Parent Portal, by calling the EBT customer service line at 1-888-997-1117 or through the LifeInCheck EBT mobile app.

5.  This is the first year my student will be receiving benefits.  They do not have a P-EBT card.  What do I do?  Do I need to apply?

No, you do not need to apply.  Cards will be issued to all NEW students automatically.

6.  I requested a new card with an address change in the Café Portal. Why was my request never approved?

In order for the address change to be approved, you MUST provide appropriate documentation to your child’s school to update an address.  This must be done before the request is approved.

7.  What information do I need to activate my card?

Activation requires:

• Child’s 16-digit card number

• Last 4 digits of the child’s Local School Student ID (SIDNO found on the Parent Progress Center or student's report card.  If you do not have this number, it will not be given out over the phone.  You must come to the school in person with appropriate identification to receive your student's SIDNO.)

• Child’s date of birth

• Child’s mailing address ZIP code

Parents can verify their child’s information as long as they are able to provide accurate answers to specific question pertaining to their child. Parents should first call the DCFS LAHelpU customer support line at 1-888-524-3578 or 1+888-LAHelpU - Monday thru Friday 7:30 am-6:00 pm.
