Welcome to the home of the Otwell Middle School VEX IQ Competition Robotics Club. The OMS Robotics Club consists of eleven student led teams that compete against other robotics teams from around the state of Georgia. To learn more about the competition game the teams will be competing in this season check out the following video from VEX.

Otwell Team A wins the Design Award at the Georgia State Championships - Headed to the World Championships

Megha, Elvis, and Lucas of Team A had an amazing showing at the Georgia State Championships today winning the Design Award and qualifying for the World Championships in April. They started the day off as one of only five teams at the championships that got to present their STEM project to a panel of judges. After completing a few driver and autonomous rounds, the team began the stressful yet fun task of managing ten rounds of the teamwork challenge ultimately making it into the finals. At the end of the day the team was awarded the Design Award for their robot design and the thoroughness of their engineering notebook. Great job team. Next stop, World Championships!!!

Acting calm under pressure all evening, Megha and Elvis of Otwell A win the Teamwork Challenge with a team from South Forsyth Middle at the first competition of the 2019/2020 Vex IQ Robotics season. Great job Team A. Good luck at State in February.
Otwell Robotics Competes in the World Championships

Congratulations to Megha and Elvis on their outstanding performance at the VEX IQ Robotics World Championships. It was an extremely intense competition and they rose to the occasion. In the robot skills competition, they climbed up the rankings 193 spots to finish 81st in the world. In the teamwork challenge competition, Megha and Elvis finished 22nd in one of the hardest divisions at Worlds, missing the division finials by only 24 hundredths of a point. Great job Megha and Elvis.

The OMS Robotics family is extremely proud of all four teams that competed at the Georgia State Robotics Championships today in Covington. Megha and Elvis of Team A had an outstanding showing at the championship today finishing second in the teamwork challenge and winning the overall Excellence Award. Both of these accomplishments qualify them for the Robotics World Championships in April. Congratulations to all of our teams today. World Championships, here we come.
