Visual Arts is a 9 weeks course where students will begin to explore different art medias. We will use the studio habits of mind, art history, drawing exercises and art related vocabulary to advance our study of visual art practices, including drawing, painting, and sculpture.
7th grade Media Arts is a year-long Photography course that concentrates on photography using digital cameras, introducing students to the languages, concepts, history, and practices of photography. During this class we will also assist Ms. Hamby with the photography for the LMMS yearbook.
Advanced Visual Arts is an 8th grade semester long course. In this class students will be encouraged to explore advanced visual art practices, including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and sculpture using a TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behaviors) approach. TAB is learner-directed allowing students to pursue their passions through choice, agency, flexibility, and emergent curriculum.
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the languages, concepts, history, and practices of photography and graphic design. Students will use their knowledge of photography and graphic design to create the Little Mill Middle School yearbook.
Interior Design is a CTAE course designed to lead students through the practices of Interior design including space planning, drafting, FFE selections and design presentation. Students will analyze factors (social, psychological, economic, cultural) affecting housing and interior design decisions for individuals and families and how those decisions impact society.
