IE2 for 9th Grade Students
Ninth-grade students at DHS must enroll in at least six academic classes to be full-time students. They may choose one IE2 period (a non-credit class) scheduled at either the beginning or end of the school day (1st or 7th period). During this time, students must be off campus and provide their own transportation. An IE2 CONTRACT must be submitted to the DHS counseling office, and the IE2 placeholder will be added to course requests only after the contract is received.
ONLINE COURSES
Click HERE to visit the DHS Counseling Website for more info about virtual learning.
You still need to be fully requested with face-to-face classes during the registration window.
Online courses in your 7 period day will be FVA unless FVA does not offer the course.
If you request a FVA course, you need to
1.) Complete the FVA Student Application
If you request a GAVS course, you need to
1.) Request the course on the GAVS Website
2.) Complete the GAVS Intent to Participate Form (located in Infinite Campus Parent Portal under Documents/Forms)
If you are taking a summer class that may change your 25-26 courses, submit the Course Waiver Request indicating what course you need to drop for 25-26 and what course you are requesting to add.
IMPORTANT CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS: Online courses IN your DHS schedule will be scheduled at the beginning or end of the day, and students will be required to take the course from home and provide their own transportation to or from school at the appropriate time. Please only choose an online course if you have appropriate transportation.
January 23-30 is the priority window for online requests.
Counselors will be hosting two virtual Q&A meetings to answer any question related to scheduling.
