WHAT?
Call the Greek Asylum Service via Skype to get pre-registered as an asylum applicant in Greece.
WHERE?
You can call from anywhere that has internet, using any device that has a camera (phone or computer) and is compatible with the Skype app.
WHEN?
WHY?
Calling via Skype is the only way to pre-register in Greece for asylum as a young healthy man, without turning yourself in to the police. If you do not call on Skype, you will not receive a registration appointment, or papers. However, if you are under 18, or you have any serious or chronic medical problems, or another serious vulnerability, there may be other options available to you. If you think this applies to you, visit the FORGE for humanity office (location here) or make an appointment with another legal team in Athens. HOW?
Call asylum.service (Asylum Service French English) from the Skype app on a computer or smartphone using video and continue until the hour has finished. You can download Skype here. When they answer, they will ask for your nationality, your current location, your phone number, your first name, your family name, your father’s name, your mother’s name, and your date of birth. Have this information ready. You can print and fill out the form here to make things easier. After answering these questions, you will receive a six-digit registration number and further instructions.
