While walking past the learning commons in Anderson High School, students and staff may notice a supply closet filled with school supplies available to any student. The members of the National Honors Society created this resource as a way for those involved in the NHS to have volunteer hours. The idea for the “Raptor Resources” closet came from the “take-a-book-leave-a-book” libraries that some may see in neighborhoods. The counselors at AHS had lots of school supplies that weren't getting used, so their donation of school supplies started Raptor Resources with the idea that the members of NHS started. Students can take school supplies they may need without any expectations to leave supplies. However, there is a donation box underneath the shelves that students with extra supplies can leave for others who don't have the supplies to use. These supplies can be used or new, and are an easy way to for Raptors to support their peers by donating their unused school supplies.
