Today is Thursday. We have been in school for 160 days. We had Spanish. In Spanish we played bingo. We had Fundations. In Fundations there were 8 people that made a sentence, and there were 3 people that made a sentence. We had reading. In reading we read a book. We had music. In music we got to play an instrument. Our music teacher got to read the note that we made, and it had little pictures. We had writing.

Today is Tuesday. We have been in school for 158 days. We had our ninth grade buddies come. We gave our ninth grade buddies cards. The ninth grade buddies gave us cards, too. We had art. In art we finished our jug people. Once we were done we got to help other people. Also because it was our last art class Karla hugged us and Mike high-fived us. We had Fundations. Diane did Fundations. Also, we did the drill sound warm-up. We had writing. In writing we wrote a table of contents.

Today is Monday. We have been in school for 157 days. We had math. In math we worked on clocks. We had Fundations. In Fundations we did the drill sound warm-up. Also in Fundations we did sentences. We had school study. In school study we worked on our boxes. Also in school study we did our people and our furniture. In school study we got to look in other classrooms. Another thing you could make were little things like books and backpacks. We had music. In music we got to watch Mary Poppins. In music we played a game. We had gym. In gym we played tick-tack-toe. There were blue and red jerseys, three of them, and when you were first in line you had to run down and put one of the jerseys into one of the hula-hoops. When you got three in a row you pick all of them up and you go back to the line and high-five your partner.

Today is Thursday. We have been in school for 155 days. We had a field trip. On the field trip we got to see tide pools. We went to Lighthouse Point Park. Also on the field trip we found moon jellies and crabs. Also on the field trip we got to take pictures in front of the lighthouse. While we were at the beach we saw little snails on the rocks. Also some of us tried to find starfish. Also on the field trip we went into the water. Also on the field trip we got to play on the playground. On the field trip when we found things, we put them in a bucket and when the bucket was filled up we could put our hands in and find things. At Lighthouse Point we also got to eat lunch. We had Spanish. In Spanish we learned about salsa but not the food kind. When we were going to Lighthouse Point, we went on a bus. We had gym. In gym we played "bulldozers and builders." Also in gym we went to the upper school's playground. We had one busy day. The end.

Also in Spanish we watched a couple videos. We had Fundations. In Fundations there was a new trick word, and it was "do." Also in Fundations, we did the drill sound warm-up. We had reading rotations. In reading rotations we got to do Lexia. We had music. In music we watched a movie. The movie was called Mary Poppins. We had school study. In school study we worked on our boxes, and you could be making a desk in a classroom. In school study you could also do your people or your furniture or you could do cool stuff like food or pets or backpacks and lunch boxes.

Also in Fundations we made sentences. We had school study. In school study we started to make, when you were done with your people, you could make little things like books. Other things you could make when you were done with your people were food or ipads or back-packs or lunchboxes. We had library. In library we got to bring books home. Also in library we got to make rattlesnakes. We had gym. In gym we played a game where we had to kick a ball and then we had to run to the other side of the gym. If you got tagged with the ball you had to go back to the line. If you kick the ball and someone catches you had to go back to the line, too, and you can throw it. The game was called "kickball extreme."

Today is Wednesday. We have been in school for 150 days. We read a story. The story was called Henry and Mudge and the Bedtime Thumps. We had math. In math we worked on our #8 study. We had Fundations. In Fundations we learned two new "trick words," and they were "by" and "my." We had school study. In our school study we kept working on our people and furniture. We had music. In music we got to watch the third graders do their May Day dance on a smartboard. We practiced for our May Day dance. Also in music we watched a dance from 2011, and it was the kindergartners. We had gym. In gym we played a game called "Castles." To play "Castles," you have to throw balls at the other team and make a castle out of hula-hoops. If you want to get closer to the team to knock their castles down, you can go down the red cones to go to the green cones to throw it. When you're at the green cones, that means you can throw, but if you're at the red, then that means you can't throw. Also in gym we got to do free time. In free time you could play basketball. Also in gym you could play with yellow bouncy balls, and you could also play with jump ropes and hula-hoops.

In Fundations we used our dry erase boards. We had reading rotations. In reading rotations we did Lexia. Also in reading rotations we did "thank you" cards for our 9th grade buddies, and we also did independent reading. We had outdoor education. In outdoor education people were playing. Also, before we did blog, on the smartboard we talked about what ticks look like.

In math the teachers told us a number to make with the change that we had. We had Fundations. In Fundations the teachers called on people, and kids got a chance to write the words down on the board. We had school study. In school study we were making people, or you could finish your furniture. Also in school study the people that you made were made out of model magic. We had Spanish. In Spanish we played a game called “bingo.” We had gym. In gym we played “Line Soccer.” There were four teams—red, yellow, blue, and orange—and you had to kick the ball to a team, and once three teams were kicked out, the team that never got out won that round.

However, some of our boxes were not classrooms. We had library. In library we got to choose new books. Also in library, we read a book, and the name of the book was I Am a Cat. We also read a book called Crocodile, Crocodile. We had gym. In gym we played a game called "Lava Ball."

In writing we talked about the difference between "a time when something happened" and "a true fact." We had reading rotations. In reading rotations we did Lexia. In reading rotations we also did writing. We also did independent reading.

Today is Monday. We have been in school for 138. We had a visitor. For the visitor, we went to where we have morning meeting. We had art. In art we made sculptures. Also in art we went outside and there was this cardboard thing that was right in front of us, and then we took a paint brush and splattered. The way we splatter painted was that we whacked the paint brush on our sculpture, and then it splattered. At lunch we got to try Chinese soup. There was vegetarian and chicken. We had Fundations. In Fundations we did tapping out. Also in Fundations we did our drill sound warm-up. We had school study. In school study we got to paint the walls of our boxes, and when you were done painting it, you got to do designs on the outside walls.

We also did "tapping out." We had School Study. In School Study we were labelling the names for the places we were drawing. We had Spanish. In Spanish we played the game where we had to guess the fruit or vegetable and then you had to guess the person who liked it. The game was called "Guess Who." If you get it right you get to lead the other people that are playing. We had gym. In gym we were practicing our Field Day races. Also in gym we played three games, and one of them is where some people were on one side of the field and other people were on the other side of the field. Whichever team had everybody take a turn to pass the scoop first, that team won.

In outdoor education people were playing with sticks. Also in outdoor education a few people were playing "Hide and Go Seek."

In social studies we went around to places in the Foote School and took pictures of them and we colored them in on our maps. We had a tour around the Foote School. We had Spanish. In Spanish we made our own Bingo. We had gym. In gym we did an obstacle course outside where the 4th and 5th grade playground is. Once the 4th graders came out we didn't do the obstacle course anymore, we played with the 4th graders. In gym we went outside.

We had science. In science we put wood in water and tried to make it sink. The way some people tried to make the wood sink was putting rubber bands all over it and then sticking paper clips in between the wood and the rubber bands. We had writing. In writing we were writing more on our stories to publish. We had a family tradition, and we got to eat tacos. We also had cupcakes, because it was another friend’s birthday. We had outdoor education. We played with sticks in outdoor education. We also had a shop, and it had money. Also, some people played “scientist.” Other people played “cops and robbers.” Some of us also tried making a (pretend) fire.

In Spanish we saw a video about the alphabet in Spanish. We had gym. In gym we played “Fishies, Fishies In the Sea” three times.

We had writing. Our 9th grade buddies just came back from China and they gave us little stuffed tigers.

Today is Tuesday. We have been in school for 108 days. We did Fundations. In Fundations there was a word and we said it with a long vowel sound and a short vowel sound. In Fundations we worked on our boards. We had centers. In centers we did a family tradition write up. We had science. In science we did an experiment. In science we used wood and squirted it with water to see what happens and then we put it in water to see if it would sink or float and see what would happen. In science we read a book. In the book we learned about trees and there was a tree that fell down and then a bunch of animals and bugs came and lived in it. Then the tree got all mushy and then an acorn came down and a squirrel buried it and then a new tree came. It was an oak tree. We had music. We practiced our songs in music. We had gym after music. In gym we played a game where there was a plank and we had to walk across the beam and then you had to go to hula-hoops. You had to swing on a rope and land in a hula-hoop and then go up mats. Then you had to jump and go over something and then climb a rope. There was a lot you had to do. It was sort of like an obstacle course.

The teachers were there. K3 and K1 were there also. We went back to music because we were having a rehearsal and we were practicing the songs we are going sing at the assembly on Friday. We had outdoor education. Some people in outdoor education made a food store and then pretended that some people got sick. Some people made fairy houses.

Also, we did a write up about one of our friend's family traditions. We had Fundations. In Fundations we learned two new trick words, is and his. We had science. In science we watched the sap get boiled. We also got to taste the syrup. We had library. In library we read a book called "The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend". We had gym. In gym we played a game where you had a partner. You had a cone and a ball and the ball was on the cone. The person who was in line first would take the ball off the cone and run across the gym and there was a bunch of circles and then there was a hula-hoop. You tried to throw the ball through and if you got the ball in the hula hoop you got to keep the circle you were on, but not forever. If you missed the hula-hoop you didn't get to bring the spot back. The game that we played in gym was called, "Hot Spot". In gym we also played "Red Light, Green Light, One, Two, Three".

Today is Tuesday. We have been in school for 103 days. We had Writing. In Writing we ex-ed out all the letters that were capital and were not supposed to be and wrote the right letters on top. Then, we had a piece of paper that had boxes and we had to check off that we did it. We had Art. In Art we did something with the owls we made out of clay. We glazed our owls. Before we glazed our owls, we took a piece of paper, and then we we put it in paint, and then we put it on another piece of paper. We had a field trip. We went to Common Ground. In our field trip we tasted regular syrup, and we tasted maple syrup. We also got to taste sap.

We had two family traditions. One family taught us what they do before bed. In the other family tradition our friend talked about going to Binghamton. We had library. In library we read a book. One of the books was Wolf in the Snow. Wolf in the Snow was a special book. It was special because it has the Caldecott golden medal. A silver medal means you're in second place. The other book we read in library was called Bear Snores On. We had gym. In gym we played a game where there were pins and you had to throw balls at the other team's pins and you could block them. The team that kept their pins up won. In gym we played bowling. In gym some people did cartwheels.

We learned about two new people. One of our friend's family tradition is to pick their Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. Another friend goes to Martha's Vineyard. We learned maple syrup comes from trees. The name of the trees are sugar maple trees. You can collect the sap in two ways, either a bucket or tubes. We put the steps of maple sugaring in order.

In Fundations we tapped out words. We had reading rotations. In reading rotations we got our book baggies and read. We also got our "trick word book". We also practiced writing. We had outdoor education. In outdoor education we played with sticks. We noticed that they float. Some of the little sticks sank. Some of us were using sticks to get other sticks and some of us were throwing sticks inside the puddle so others could get them.

We had gym. In gym we played a game where you had to stand on the carpet and you had to run around and step on the base carpet to get a point. In gym we also played “Taco Tuesday.” Also, we played “Red Light, Green Light.” The gym teachers said “Red light, green light, 1-2-3” and you had to run and if you went too many times around, you had to go all the way back to the beginning.

In library we read a book about a dog who was doing bad things and when the owner came back they took him for a walk. We had gym. In gym we had a partner and a spot and Brad would call out something and we had to do it. If you completed the passes you got to put a thumbs up and if you were close you put a thumb in the middle.

In art when we were making our owls we got to use oil pastels. We had writing. In writing we wrote our stories again. We had reading. In reading we did Explode the Code. In reading rotations we wrote our letters on a dry-erase board.

Today is Monday. We have been in school for 85 days. We had an assembly. They played the violin, the cello and a viola. We had Fundations. In Fundations we used the tile boards. We had a visitor. The visitor played music for us. We had math and in math we got snowman cards and picked one out and then wrote the number that we had on the piece of paper and then we wrote what numbers came after that. We had music. In music we danced. We had gym. In gym we played a game where you had a big soccer ball and everyone made a big square and you had to try to get to the other side of the square without getting hit by the ball. Also in gym, we played this game where there were three taggers and if you got tagged you had to sit down and you couldn't get back in the game and if they were blocking you, you could jump onto another line.

We had drama. In drama we each got a turn to go inside Mr. Schlusberg's box and take something out, and then he put it all in the middle so we could have a chance to touch it. We had Spanish. In Spanish we danced to a song and we played the maracas. We had gym. We bowled.

In music we got to color. In music we watched a song that was called "Our Voices Are All the Same." We had social studies. In social studies we got cards, and we wrote on the cards what we could do at different ages.

Today is Tuesday. We have been in school for 81 days. We had Fundations. In Fundations we learned three new capital letters and they were S, T, and U. We had math. In math we had teen number puzzle pieces. We had science. In science one person measured how tall our amaryllis was and then we drew pictures. We will measure and draw a picture every week so we know how tall our amaryllis gets. We had library. In library we got to choose more books to bring home. We read a book in library and the book was called, Give Me Back My Book. We had gym. In gym we played some games. One of the games was a person pulling a scooter with a cone and you had throw yarn balls at the cone and try to make the cone fall off. In another game you had to put a flag in your pocket and people chased you to try and get the flag and if they got the flag out they gave it back to you to put back in your pocket and you kept playing after you did ten jumping jacks.

We had Art. In Art we painted our creepy creatures. We also painted our pinch pots. We had Writing. In Writing we told our "Turn-and-Talk" buddies our favorite stories, and we asked them if they made sense; and they said "yes" or "no." We had Reading Rotations. In Reading Rotations we wrote things that we promised to do, because of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. At the blue table, we did "Explode the Code." At the red table, we did the punch-outs and we punched out "W" and "Y."

In outdoor education we poured the extra hot tea onto snow and it turned the snow maroon and melted it. Also, when we poured the hot tea onto the grass it didn't change the color of the grass. In outdoor education we did science and we also built a see-saw.

Once you spilled your chips you made a line and then you colored your paper to match your line. The chips helped us make groups of 5. We had Spanish. In Spanish we played Bingo. We had Fundations. In Fundations we practiced our letters.

Today is Wednesday. We have been school for 70 days. We had writing. In writing we learned about the Beginning, Middle, and Ending of a story. We wrote our stories down. We had Art. At the beginning of Art, Mike and Carla read us a book, and it was about a magic pot. In Art we made these cups out of clay, and we put stamps on them. We saw K1's sculptures in a machine which makes things hot, and sometimes it even gets so hot that it makes things red. We had Fundations. In Fundations we did "tapping out."

We watched people from China play the drums on tv. On the screen we saw people also do the Lion Dance in China. Tong Beina told us a legend about a monster that comes out on the darkest nights and scares all the people, and the things that he is scared of are fire, the color red and loud music. Tong Beina showed us a picture of one of the dragons and it was really long. We had Fundations. We took our boards and found the letters x and y.

Today is Tuesday. We have been in school for 60 days. We had a visitor. Our visitor's name was Tong Beina. We had drama. Our drama teacher's name was Mr. Schlusberg. In drama we used our imaginations. We had gym. In gym we played a game where you had to run and if you get tagged you had to do 10 jumping jacks and then get the tagger thing, then you'd become the tagger. The tagger things that you would grab with were called "tacos" because of Taco Tuesday. There were Falco tacos, and monkey tacos, brain tacos, and spider tacos. Also, we got a cut up noodle ("popper") that we had to bring back to our hoop and in the first round you could only grab from the middle, but in the second and third rounds you could grab from other hoops. You had to get 7 or 8 "poppers". We had Spanish. In Spanish we sang a song and we played a game. We had social studies. In social studies we made our feelings thermometers. We had Fundations. In Fundations we wrote on our white boards.

In Centers, at the yellow table, we did tally marks, and whatever number the tally marks were, we had to write down the number. At the blue table we did “mystery jars,” and at the red table, we traced over the numbers and wrote them down. We had Spanish. In Spanish we played Bingo. We had Fundations, and in Fundations we had two new letters, and they were “x” and “y.”

Today is Wednesday. We have been in school for 56 days. We went to the Yale Art Museum. At the art gallery museum we saw the sculptures and we drew ourselves or the paintings. We took a school bus to the Yale Art Gallery. We took the school bus on the way back to Foote School. We had music. We learned a new song in music. We had gym. In gym we played a game where you had to build a castle and throw yarn balls at the other teams' castles and if you knock their castle over or you build your castle back up without a teacher's help you got a point. We had Fundations. We learned about hearing in science. We picked cards and then we made the sound. We practiced mindfulness by listening to a bell and putting our hand on our head when we didn't hear the bell anymore. On the last time we got to go get our jackets when we were done.

The other things that we were doing in Reading Rotations were that we had a puzzle, and in the middle there was a picture. You had to match it with some things that started with the same sound. The other one was hole-punching l, h, and k. In Reading Rotations we did a Venn Diagram. We learned one of our friends’ favorite books.

One of the centers was hula-hooping. The other centers were swinging on a rope and getting a balloon and throwing it across the net. We also did jump ropes. We also had to throw a ball onto a pad that had sticky things that would make the ball stick. We also did basketball. We had math. We had a visitor and the visitor was Angela. K-1 and K-3 came to our class. We had Fundations. In Fundations we learned two new letters and they were v and w. In Fundations we got to trace the w and v and then we got our books.

Today is Thursday. We have been in school for 50 days. We had Kossouth come. When Kossouth came over, we read a book, My Mouth Is a Volcano. We had another visitor, too. We drew an invention. We had gym. In gym we played a game where we had to throw a ball to whatever side you weren't on; if you made it in, you got a point for your team, and then you had to switch. We threw the balls in the goals. We made cards for the people we care about to say "Thank you." We had music, but then we couldn't go because Tina couldn't be there. We had Fundations. In Fundations we worked on our boards, and we wrote our letters. In Fundations we practiced "question marks." Some other visitors came and told us that today was the last day for the food drive. The visitors who came over were sixth graders.

In yoga we got to lay down and close our eyes and then when we heard the round and round sound we got to get up and listen and we sat criss-cross-applesauce. We had All About Me. In All About Me a friend showed us his favorite game, it is called Scrabble. We had reading rotations. In reading rotations, at the red table, we got to write a story about us that was true. At the yellow table we got to do one of our friends' Venn Diagram and at the blue table we got to hole punch the letters e and r. We had outdoor education. In outdoor ed we went to the Sacred Woods. We had music. In music we learned a new song. We had Fundations. Before we had greeting meeting two of our friends helped set the stuff for calendar. The sixth graders came over to visit and told us that tomorrow is the last day to bring our food donations into school.

There was this game in gym called, "Tilt the Boulder" and if you get hit by it you had to run around the gym for one lap until you get back to the place you started and once you got there you could go back on line or do to a different line. There was this game in gym where you were a crab and you played soccer and once you got a goal you went back to line and the only way you could go out and play was if you had a certain favorite thing. It was our friend's birthday today and we are going to celebrate. We got to pick out books from the library. In library we read books. We had Fundations. Today we did All About Me. We learned about two new friends. We did our shelter drill.

Today is Thursday. We have been in school for 26 days. We went to gym and we have 5 separate areas that we could play in. One of the areas there was a crate and we stood in a line at the crate and we grabbed the rope and we got 3 swings on the rope. Another one of the areas was a string on a pole connected to something and you got on a scooter and you had to pull yourself all the way to the other side. We also got to do balloons over a net and there was a ball and a shovel and you had to catch with the shovel. We went to K-3 and K-1. We made applesauce in the different class. At K-3 we measured apples. In K-2 we did apple prints and found the star inside the apple. We had music. We got to go around and we got to sing "Hello Everyone". We got our red folders in music and we got to put our train numbers on there. We had All About Me. We learned about a friend's favorite object. It was a stuffed animal bunny. The bunny was soft.

We didn't do the obstacle course in the gym we did it on the upper fields. We used the monkey bars and the crates and a wibbly wobbly thing and you had to run all the way past the tire swing. We did the obstacle course twice and we had to follow the cones. We went down the slide and we had to run zig-zaggy to the cones and back, we were at the big kids playground. In Spanish we learned the colors. We played a game in Spanish. We are going to be learning "All About Ourselves" and today we learned about Trish.

In gym we tried to clean up the cones for 40 seconds. We played a game where one person was the builder and the other person was the bulldozer. In gym it was 9 versus 4. Each group had a chance to win. Kossouth came to visit us. We did Fundations. We had an assembly. We sang a song at the assembly. We watched the people dance. The people we watched were our Yali visitors from China. They performed (acted) a little show that they used to watch when they were kids. The assembly was in the gym.

The bunnies are back and got to come out. WE talked about assembly dress for tomorrow because of our Yali Visitor Assembly. In centers we did hole punching, sewing and ABC patterns.

Today is Wednesday. We have been in school for 12 days. We did Fundations. We practiced more with t and f and b. We did outdoor education. We went to a garden. We got to see and play in a different compost pile. We got to smell mint at the garden and we got to eat it. In the garden we got to play in the corn. We did music. We did centers. At one table we got to practice making patterns with our colors. At another table we practiced our sewing and at the last table we did the I word in PRIDE (integrity) and we drew pictures about when we wanted to lie but we didn't and told the truth.

Today is Tuesday. We have been in school for 11 days. We had Spanish and gym. For gym we went to a different room because they were setting up for Parents Night. In gym we played a game. We played a cup game. We went to the cups and came back. The gym teacher had to make a tower out of the cups and the checker had to check it. In Spanish we learned the colors. Blanco means white. Rosa/rosado means pink. We learned verde means green. Gris means grey. Blue is azul. We used teddy bears to make patterns. We also used pom-poms to make patterns. We stuck the pom-poms on a sentence strip. We did some Fundations. We learned how to write some letters. We used our dry-erase boards.

Today is Monday. We have been in school for 10 days. We had Spanish. We practiced a fire drill during Spanish. We sang a song in Spanish about the numbers. The bunnies were out. We had music. We went outside. We talked about characters in a story. The characters in A Visitor for Bear are bear and mouse. We also learned that the D in PRIDE stands for dependability. In Fundations we learned and traced the letters b and f.

Today is Thursday. We have been in school for 8 days. We had our first day of art. We got to go outside. We had fun. The bunnies were out. We learned about the letter T today in Fundations. We got to use hole punchers for our rotations.

Today is Wednesday. We have been in school for 7 days. We went to gym. We learned about sitting (our proper writing position). The bunnies came out of their cage. We got to go outside. We met Kossouth today. He read us a book about feelings. He also read us a book that helped us remember to think of our friends' feelings. We watched a movie in music class because Tina wasn't there. We had bagels for snack.

Today is Tuesday. We have been in school for 6 days. We went outside for outdoor education. We went to the music building. We got a Falco. We got to go and listen to drums and the 9th graders. It was an assembly. We finished the bunnies’ home and got to play with them. We went to the playground. Welcome to our new "Blog"!!!
