Banks Trail Timberwolves are Mathematicians!
Summer math is vital for preventing the "summer slide", where students can lose up to two months of grade-level skills without regular practice. It provides an experience to reinforce foundational concepts, build confidence, keep the brain active, and to set students up for a successful start to the 2026-2027 school year.
There are 2 optional summer math opportunities for students, one offered through BTMS and one offered through FMSD. They may do either one, but they can also do both!
The calendars below are optional summer math practice. There is one problem for each day (Monday-Friday) for all of June and July. The problems are the practice of prerequisite skills and standards from their 2025-2026 math class. All problems should be answered, and work should be shown on the blank calendar. Calendars and work will be turned in at the beginning of the next school year. Students who complete the summer math calendar for their appropriate class will receive a prize!

Fort Mill School District is partnering with Zearn Math to offer the FMSD Make This Summer Count Math Challenge for current 5th–8th grade students (rising 6th–9th graders).
The challenge will officially run from June 8th through July 20th and is designed to help students strengthen foundational math skills and prepare for success in the upcoming school year. Participation in this voluntary learning opportunity does not count towards course grades, academic promotion, placement, or acceleration to a new grade level. Questions about this program should be directed to Dr. Yashica Latimer (latimery@fortmillschools.org)
