FMPSD Professional Learning opportunities support professional growth resulting in optimum learning for all students. We believe that when our teachers and leaders learn, students succeed.
FMPSD provides Professional Learning Fridays, a Division Professional Development day and additional opportunities for teachers and leaders to collaborate to build professional and collective capacities, in order to support "Doing what’s Best for Kids”.
Our professional learning dates provide dedicated time throughout the year for learning and collaboration, while staff feedback helps shape and continually improve further professional learning opportunities.

Professional Learning Fridays provide regular, structured time for teachers and leaders to collaborate and strengthen teaching practices in support of student learning. School leaders plan this learning based on staff feedback, student learning needs, and Division and local school priorities.

An annual division-wide learning day focuses on addressing emerging professional needs. Guided by staff feedback, current research, and available resources.

Feedback from staff, students and families helps identify strengths, areas for growth, and priroties for professional learning. We use this feedback, along with student learning evidence and school needs, to plan, act, reflect, and continually strengthen practice.

Leadership and Support for Professional Learning
School administrators provide instructional leadership by supporting collaboration, professional reflection, and ongoing learning connected to student and school needs.
Division coordinators work alongside schools to provide expertise, resources, coaching, and professional learning during Professional Learning Fridays and throughout the year. This overview provides and example of the support division coordinators provide.
Senior Leaders provide learning through Leader's meetings, Leadership Academies, Aspiring Leaders, LAC Academies as well as New Teacher training sessions.
