Library card

You will need your card in order to access the library services. The same card can be used in every library of Trentino library system

To get a library card you have to log-in and fill in the form [file -> make a copy]

Then email us at, adding the form properly filled in and a copy of an Identity document. Physical cards must be picked up by the Library. Once the card is ready, you'll be called and given an appointment

The Library catalog PrimoFEM

Primo FEM is the discovery tool that will allow better access and management of the Library’s print, electronic, and digital collections. Through a single sign-on, users can log in to My Account and make DD and ILL requests

It allows google like and advanced search, to create personal profile, view loans, save and export data, extend search to all Trentino libraries.

Digital library

FEM Library electronic resources are searchable in PrimoFEM and consist in:

Databases: the Library provides access to the most important databases of the agri-food and environmental sector

e.g. Web of Science Core collection, Scopus, CAB Abstract & Global Health, Springer Nature Experiments....

eBooks & eJournals of the most important Academic publishers

e.g. Wiley, Elsevier, SpringerNature, Oxford University Press, CABI, Taylor & Francis...

Access to electronic resources

  • At FEM: direct access to resources is available to all institutional users

  • Off-campus access: is allowed to FEM staff and students with institutional credentials via IDEM-GARR/Shibboleth authentication (preferred) or using the Biblioproxy service

Document Delivery - Inter Library Loan request

Institutional users (with @fmach credentials) can use the DD / ILL service:

  1. through the ILL Request form on the PrimoFEM discovery home page: the user must have Fmach credentials and the Library card

  2. via NILDE (Network Inter-Library Document Exchange): the user must register using the FEM credentials (IDEM-GARR institutional account), selecting the Fondazione Mach in the list of institutions and filling in the name of the internal contact person in the registration form (tutor, supervisor, project or structure contact person)

Having the library card is mandatory to request documents not owned

Store the PhD thesis in OpenPub

The Library is in charge of IRIS-OpenPub, the institutional research information system that collects, manages and stores data related to FEM scientific research output

PhD students with FEM tutors are invited to store their thesis in IRIS-OpenPub, sending a copy (pdf file) to the following address:

MLOL (Media Library On Line): the Italian digital library

The library provides the MediaLibraryOnine (MLOL) platform to read over 7000 international newspapers and magazines, 40.000 ebooks of Italian publishers, audiobooks and more
