The goal of our Physics Friday labs is to complete most or all of the lab during the session. In general, Friday Physics labs are fun and a great way to collaborate with your classmates and also save time in completing your Physics labs!
Friday Physics Lab days are not recorded as we may complete part of a lab together as a large group. (However, If you choose the Nearpod lab in the Physics help site instead, these include recordings to support your lab completion. )
Be sure to log in by 9:55am!
The labs can run from 10am to 11:30am depending on comfort level with concepts and efficiency of teamwork. Students choosing to work with a partner must commit to staying in the session for the whole lab. See the Live Lesson calendar for details on dates of each lab!
The format for most labs is as follows but is subject to change depending on the specifics of a lab:
5 minute: Warm up
5 minute: Options and instructions, lab template
10 minute: Large group analysis/practice
30+ minute: Individual lab time or breakout room for partner/group work
During the second half of the session, your physics teachers will be available to offer support, clarify directions, check your work and thought process and give you pointers anywhere you might need. Teachers will spend time in the main room helping students that are working individually. Teachers will also hop from breakout room to breakout room to check in on each group's progress and offer support.
