Welcome to Our Tribe!!

I am Dee Dee Phillips the K-2 teacher in the new MI/MO classroom here at Glenwood Primary school for the 2018-2019 school year and our class is proud to be a part of the Glenwood Tribe!! However, I am most proud to be the mother of my two of two handsome boys, Jaylon and Braylan. Jaylon is 12 and Braylan is 17 months.

My sweet Jaylon is the reason I became a teacher and he is truly my little miracle. In 2006, he was born at 24 weeks weighing 1lb 4oz. He had a grade 2 and grade 4 brain bleed, which caused Hydrocephalus and developmental delays. He stayed at Crawford Long Hospital for approximately 5 months and endured countless surgeries. During that time, my family and I did a great deal of praying about how we were going to take care of this baby and the long road ahead of us. We trusted and believed that if he brought us to it.. he would surely see us through it.

That is why I truly believe the Lord placed me in this position, because I can relate with parents, I have a heart for my students, and live it each and every day. Basically, this is not just a job for me, but a chance to establish a foundation for my students, regardless of their cognitive abilities to prepare them for future endeavors, independence, and a given sense of responsibility, which they know based on our class motto: Responsibility: Doing What You Are Expected To Do!!

Thanks for sharing your students with me!!

Please feel free to contact me at anytime!
