Alto Park Elementary School offers a comprehensive school counseling program. Students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade receive services in individual, small group and whole-class sessions.

Classroom Lessons

All K-5 classes receive whole-class counseling Lessons. Students participate in lessons that address academic success, behavior, friendship, conflict resolution and much more.

Small Group Counseling

Small group counseling provides a supportive environment for students to express their thoughts and feelings about particular topics with their peers. These groups, generally comprised of 4-6 students and are short term. Groups are created based on data and parent or teacher referrals.

Lunch Bunch Sessions

Character development is a top priority. Lunch bunch sessions are organized in a manner that allows students to participate in a small group to discuss the monthly character/core value. Every student will have the opportunity to participate in at least one lunch bunch session during the course of the school year.
