Senior Chloe Roberts has grown up in the Flour Bluff Community, attending the school district since first grade. Throughout the years, she has been an active member of the Flour Bluff Band Program and the Hornets for Christ Club.
One of her biggest commitments has been with the band, where she has played the flute since sixth grade.
“What I love most about the band program is the experience you gain from being in it,” Roberts said. “You meet so many people who become your friends throughout all of your highschool years, [and] you get to be creative and learn new instruments, [as well as being able to read music, something some people don’t get a chance to do].”
Over the years, she has taken on leadership roles as the Flute Section Leader and the Morale Officer for the band.
“I have met so many leaders and great people who have encouraged me throughout my highschool years,” Roberts said. “I have made so many great memories that will last a lifetime and so many people that I will never forget [; the flute section has such a big impact on me.]”
Hornets for Christ, a student-led faith group, has allowed her to find a community that she can rely on.
“I go in the morning[s], [and I] am able to get time to pray with all of my friends,” Roberts said. “And enjoy some snacks and learn about God, while helping teach others about Him.”
Her and her siblings have and still attend Flour Bluff ISD.
“I have four siblings,” Roberts said. “Joshua who graduated in 2023, Titus who is a sophomore, Samuel who is in eighth grade, and Seth in seventh grade.”
Growing up in the Flour Bluff Community with her family allowed her to make connections and friendships, which are special to her.
“[The community] has a variety of things for students to do, and it is this welcoming place where students can be educated,” Roberts said. “And [also] a way for students to learn so many new things.”
As her time at Flour Bluff comes to an end, she plans to attend Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to study Business and Education.
“[After getting] my bachelor's degree, [I want] to run my own daycare,” Roberts said. “I have always loved working with children and this is something I have planned for.”
Although she is excited to begin a new chapter in her life, she hopes to leave an impact at Flour Bluff.
“[I want people to remember] my personality, positivity, and character,” Roberts said. “And to remember that forever.”
