Senior Alaina Featherby has attended Flour Bluff for 4 years and been involved in varsity choir, Anchored 4 life, cross country, and National Honor Society. Featherby also won student of the week with the caller times in May of 2024.
“These activities have changed my life and taught me about responsibility and relationships,” Featherby said.
As a student leader, she plans to leave a significant impact on the students. She currently serves as the Choir President and Social Media Officer for Anchored 4 Life.
“I climbed my way from choir secretary to vice president and finally to president, and I'll never forget what it felt like to earn that title.” Featherby said.
There are many parts of Flour Bluff that stand out, but the level of education and the people she’s met will last for life.
“Flour Bluff values intelligence and no one is put down for being smart,” Featherby said. “But the friendships I’ve made will always be my favorite part of this school.”
She thanks the Flour Bluff Community for their undivided support, but most grateful for Mr. Fernandez, her choir director.
“Mr. Fernandez has supported me in every way,” Featherby said. “He makes all the hard work worth it and I'm thankful for everything he does for me and for the choir.”
Outside of school, Featherby enjoys creating art and sharing her talent with friends and family.
“I’ve been an artist as long as I can remember and I love the freedom of art.” Featherby said.
After graduation, she plans on getting a degree in biology and pursuing a career in psychiatry. She also hopes to be remembered by her peers as someone who added to the choir program’s successes.
As she moves onto her next chapter, she advises the underclassmen to live by this motto:
“Keep your chin up, work for your grades, and do what you love; nothing else matters.” Featherby said.
