Information about Florida KidCare and Family-related Medicaid

Florida KidCare

Florida KidCare is the umbrella program for the government-sponsored health insurance programs – Medicaid, MediKids, Florida Healthy Kids and the Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan – that provide coverage for Florida children from birth through the end of age 18.    Florida KidCare includes free, subsidized and full-pay options based on family income and household size. Most families pay nothing at all, and many families pay $15 or $20 a month for all children in the household.  KidCare has year round open enrollment and families can apply any time.  Click here for more information on Kidcare eligibility requirements.

Medicaid

In addition to being part of the KidCare program that covers children from birth through up to the end of age 18,  Florida Medicaid also covers pregnant women and parents and other caretaker relatives who meet eligibility criteria and income limits for Family-RelatedMedicaid.   Click here for more information on the individuals eligible for Family-Related Medicaid.  Information on income limits for Family-Related Medicaid is available here.
