It’s difficult to talk to a customer about something when you do not know it exists! Holding a quick Daily Huddle Meeting at the start of every shift will make sure that everyone is on the same page to start the day and that your Outfitters have all the information and resources they need to be successful.
It is important to point out that this is not something you only do in the morning. Every Outfitter needs to have the information in the Daily Huddle Meeting communicated with them as they arrive for the start of their shifts throughout the day. By using the Sales Floor Playbook as a guide and providing a space for Outfitters to ask questions and discuss, you will ensure consistency of communication across your team. This is the responsibility of whoever is playing the role of the Team Leader, but ultimately, you are the one accountable for ensuring that it is happening.
When leading the Daily Huddle Meeting, it's best to...
Be consistent. The more consistent you are, the more your team will come to anticipate and enjoy these gatherings with their teammates, where they can learn new information, ask questions, and share insights.
Make it concise. A Daily Huddle meeting is meant as an opportunity to review only the most essential and relevant information an Outfitter needs to know. And since it occurs daily, the meeting should last only 5-10 minutes.
Come prepared. The most effective approach is to use the Sales Floor Playbook, a tool specifically designed to compile details about upcoming events, daily sales goals and schedules, task completion, training activities, and more, making it the perfect companion for a well-led Daily Huddle meeting.
Set a positive tone. Inject each huddle with a dose of inspiration. Share a customer success story, highlight a team member's exceptional service, or simply reiterate the value your team brings to the community. Remind them of the positive impact they have and get them excited about the day ahead!
