Middle & Elementary School

Ways to get smarter - Computation Thinking via Brebas

UPDATED August 5, 2022

We have had middle school students in grades 6-8 compete with Troy HS Cyber since 2015. We are allowing students in grades 4 & 5 to compete for the very first time this year. Students can practice on Thursdays either at Troy HS or via zoom from 4-6 pm. Parents of interested students should contact Mr. Stubblefield at astubblefield@fjuhsd.org.

PRACTICES:

  • Thursday from Sep 9 through Dec 8 from 4-6 pm at Troy HS or via Zoom

  • One practice per week unless students want to learn a 2nd system (Windows, Linux, Networking). 2nd system practices are AT Troy HS on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 3:45-5:30 pm.

  • In-person: Restrooms are very close to our practice rooms. Snacks and drinks ARE allowed. Do NOT bring iPads and laptops - you will use Troy PCs.

  • We have 5 rooms on Thursdays for students:

    • Beginning & Intermediate Windows

    • Beginning & Intermediate Linux (Ubuntu)

    • Beginning Networking (Cisco)

    • All rooms are near the back of Troy HS (near the varsity baseball field)

TEAMS - We will organize teams of teams in mid-September.
