Sign in to My AP with your College Board account and make sure you’ve joined each AP Classroom.

Complete AP Exam Registration & Payment via Troy’s Total Registration Site
ALL students & parents must use the Total Registration online system to register/pay for (or cancel) an exam: https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/051009
Cost per exam: $104.00
For students enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program, cost per exam is $12.00
For 2026, tests are either fully digital, digital hybrid, or paper. Students must bring a fully charged school Chromebook. You will NOT have access to electricity during the testing window, however, you may bring your own charging block. Please refer to the list below to determine your testing type. You have Bluebook downloaded on your school Chromebook, which you will use for fully or hybrid digital exams.

For morning exams, students must report to exam location at 7:30 AM.
For afternoon exams, students must report to exam location at 11:30 AM.

BACKPACKS: Backpacks should be left in student vehicles OR placed in student lockers before check-in time. Cell phones must be left in your backpack or locker. Only bring your allowed testing supplies to check-in. All snacks, IDs, pens, pencils, or power banks entering the testing area must be in CLEAR plastic bags ONLY.
For All AP Exams
Students will not be dismissed until an exam has officially ended; do not ask the testing proctors to leave early if you finish before the end of the exam.
If you play a sport or have a job, it is your responsibility to inform your coach or employer of your AP Exam obligation, and arrangements should be made accordingly.
You must bring the following items to the exam room:
A current government-issued or school-issued photo ID.
Fully Charged school Chromebook for Digital or Digital Hybrid Exams. There will be no access to electricity during the testing.
You are allowed to bring a charging block
Your College Board account username and password. You must memorize your login information.
You will receive your ID Labels when arriving at your first exam.
If you are taking more than one exam, bring these labels to all of your exams!
Several sharpened No. 2 pencils. Mechanical pencils are not allowed . No pencil bags are allowed; use a clear plastic bag.
Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas free-response questions in hybrid exams. No pencil bags are allowed; use a clear plastic bag.
An acceptable calculator if your AP Exam allows the use of a calculator. AP Macroeconomics only allows 4-function calculators.
A ruler or straight edge if you are taking an AP Physics Exam. Protractors are not allowed.
Snacks are allowed under the following conditions:
Absolutely no lunch bags or boxes. Snacks must be removed from original packaging and put into in CLEAR plastic bags.
Water bottles may be under your desk, but they must be CLEAR, disposable water bottles with ALL labels removed.
You may NOT bring the following to the exam room
Cell phones, Smart watches, PDAs, MP3 players, email/messaging devices, or any other electronic or communication devices. Leave these items in your locker or at home!
Books, reference guides, notes, compasses, protractors, mechanical pencils, pencils that are not No. 2, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or colored pencils.
Scratch paper: Students are prohibited from bringing scratch paper to the AP Exam. For digital and hybrid exams, scratch paper will be provided.
Watches that beep, make a noise, or have an alarm.
Earplugs
Portable listening* or recording devices (even with headphones) or photographic equipment.
Clothing with subject-related information.
You are required to abide by the policies of both the College Board and school during the exam period. Any misconduct will be reported and could jeopardize your AP Exam grade.
Get a good night’s rest before your exam, and eat a nutritious breakfast. For afternoon exams, eat before exam check-in. If you bring a water, it must be a clear, disposable water bottle without any labels on it. It is advisable to bring a sweater, in case the room temperature is below your comfort level.
AP exams can give a student college credit and/or assist with college course placement.

3 is typically considered to be a passing score:
5 = extremely qualified
4 = well qualified
3 = qualified

Do I have to take the AP Exam? No, AP Exams are not mandatory and will not affect your grade in high school.
Do I have to have a College Board Account to take an AP Exam? YES!!!! There is no way Troy can order you an exam unless you have a student account. Go to apstudents.collegeboard.org
Does my AP Exam count as college credits? Possibly. It depends on the college you would like to go to. Please check with your college of choice.
Can I choose a different date or time to take my exam? No, all tests are given at the same date and time world wide. College Board creates the schedule and we have to follow it.
Can I take an exam at another school? Yes. However, it is your responsibility to contact local high schools regarding this request, and you will need to ensure that it does not conflict with any exams you are scheduled to take at Troy.
I have 2 exams at the exact same time. What do I do? Please contact Mrs. Jillian Belmudez.
Can I take 2 tests on the same day? Yes. As long as they are not at the same time AND they are at the same location (e.g., Troy). There is no way that you can take a test in the morning at one school and make it in time to take an afternoon exam at another school.
If I am not prepared, can I choose to take the test at a later time? No.
Can I take a later exam if I have a conflict, like a CIF championship game scheduled? Yes, but you will have to make arrangements with
What if I am really sick on exam day? Please contact Mrs. Jillian Belmudez immediately. A note from your doctor is required to petition for taking the exam at a later date.
Are there refunds? Refer to the exam flyer for full and partial refund deadlines.
How long are the exams? Most exams will be between 4 - 4 1/2 hours from check in time. This time includes check in, directions, collection of material and a break.
Students may only test in the make-up window (5/18 - 5/22) due to a conflict with another exam (AP, Cambridge, or IB), a conflict with a school event (CIF), a family emergency, or a doctor’s note if ill during the original exam.
Cancellations must be done through Total Reg by the specific deadlines published (see "Purchasing Exams" section). **Note: After April 3, 2026, no refunds will be issued for any canceled exams. Any untaken/unused exams are subject to a $40 fee.
