Abstract:
Virtual reality is a large part of the cutting edge technology that has been developed and now being refined. Virtual reality has proved to benefit commercial construction companies in various ways. From training to safety, as well as design improvements, virtual reality has allowed commercial construction to flourish due to less safety issues and revolutionary improvements on building construction techniques. Using software, like Revit, building teams create buildings and have an opportunity to explore them without even breaking ground. Software creates perfect models for everyone involved in the project to analyze and perfect every step of the way. Along with being able to analyze the building itself, virtual reality gives the safety team an opportunity to create a plan for all employees' safety throughout the time on the project. Virtual reality can impact safety more than just analyzing the site, but allowing employees to have an opportunity for learning how to operate large equipment specific to the project before arriving on site. Virtual reality has revolutionized construction in even more ways: increased consumer satisfaction, reduced labor costs, fewer timeline delays, reduction in rework, etc.
