The NASA HAQAST 2017 Northern California Wildfires Tiger Team assess the effects of wildfire smoke on air quality and human health burden resulting from the October 2017 Northern California wildfires using a combination of satellite data, air quality modeling, health risk information and hospital incidence rates.
Four components comprise this project:
- Fire emissions inventory
- Air quality modeling
- Evaluate and improve model results with satellite observations
- Conduct a health impact analysis
