Welcome to the AirFire Research Team website. We are part of U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Research and Development, specifically the Pacific Northwest (PNW) Research Station’s Pacific Wildland Fire Science Laboratory. AirFire is one of four research teams with the USFS PNW’s Threat Characterization and Management Program. AirFire was founded in 2002 by Dr. Sue Ferguson (1953-2005). AirFire is based out of Seattle, Washington.
