Wildfires Cost You
The Great Lakes Forest Fire Compact, Prevention Committee met back in January of 2009 in St. Paul, Minnesota to develop a two-year fire prevention and awareness campaign.
The team worked closely with the Minnesota DNR Creative Services Unit to develop the useful tools, such as print, radio, and television ads, that assist in the public outreach efforts in the great lakes region surrounding peak fire seasons. As a result, the team decided on the theme “Wildfires Cost You” to focus on all the inherit costs associated with unwanted, human-caused wildfires. The majority of the products debuted around “Wildfire Prevention Week” (the third full week in April) and will continue to be used throughout 2010.
