I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about me, both professionally and personally. I am looking forward to this opportunity of learning with you and your child!
I taught 5th grade from 2008-2019, and am now teaching 7th grade ELA, but I have been in the education field much longer than that. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a minor in Psychology. I also have a Master’s in Education. Teaching is more than a job to me. It is my career, and a commitment I take very seriously. My goal, my mission, as a teacher is to dedicate myself in helping your child reach his/her full potential. Just as I have high expectations for myself, I have high expectations for your child and I will do all I can to help him/her to meet those expectations. I am very passionate about teaching children in a meaningful way, and believe that every child can learn and be inspired to love learning. As a teacher, I have the responsibility to maintain a healthy and respectful learning environment in which students feel safe and appreciated. Different students have different specific needs, but all children need engaging and diverse learning opportunities, structure, and routine. This new path of learning that we are now facing is a challenge for all of us.
Personally, I am a mother of three beautiful girls, and a great young man. My family is very important to me, and I value our time together. I take my responsibility of educating students very seriously, and look forward to your input and collaboration to make this new adventure incredible! I come from a family of educators dedicated to making a difference in our youth, but I know this is a team effort! Thank you for all you do, and thank you for sharing and entrusting your students to me on our new adventures!
