Fierce Dance Academy Presents - LEGENDS, June 2025

Hello! We are so excited for recital season!! To help us make sure things run smoothly and efficiently, please read this material immediately and contact the studio with any concerns.

Participation in our recital is purely optional and is not necessary to continue classes. Participation, however, does mean adherence to the guidelines contained in the following pages.

We urge all first-time participants to view this information at your convenience to become familiar with the way our recital is organized. If you need a more detailed explanation about recital, please talk to a Fierce staff member as they will be able to help with any questions you may have about the recital. 2025 RECITAL INFORMATION

Thursday, June 12th - 7pm: Fierce Dance Academy Presents: LEGENDS (Show A)

Friday, June 13th - 7pm: Fierce Dance Academy Presents: LEGENDS (Show B)

Saturday, June 14th - 2pm: Fierce Dance Academy Presents: LEGENDS (Show A)

DRESS REHEARSAL WEEK: (Held at Fierce Dance Academy)

June 2nd-June 6th: during regularly scheduled class times (5pm-9pm)
Each class will be assigned a particular time to appear for dress rehearsal, on their regularly scheduled class day (i.e. Jazz 2 will be on Monday, June 2nd). The schedule will be available shortly.

RECITAL TICKETS:

Recital tickets are $20 each (plus a service charge from the ticketing company, usually around $1-$2). Information on purchasing tickets will be available shortly. Dancers in the show are not required to purchase a ticket, but will not be permitted in the theater to watch during the show.
EVERY PERSON ATTENDING THE SHOW MUST HAVE A TICKET! (This includes parents and young children).

TUITION:

Tuition is calculated PER YEAR, NOT PER MONTH - from September through June.
For the convenience of our clients, we charge the tuition monthly. The number of times a class meets per month will vary between 3 and 5 times. There are no discounts for months that only have 3 classes in them as in the end they all meet approximately the same number of times throughout the season. There are no discounts for missed classes or snow days.
ALL accounts must be fully paid (aside from upcoming Summer events) in order for a dancer to participate in recital.
Should your child decide to drop out of a class, please provide written notice through email. Please send an email to info@fiercedanceacademy.com if you are withdrawing your student from a class so that Fierce Dance Academy staff and instructors can keep track.

COSTUMES:

Costume fees are due by March 1st. The fees are $90 per costume. In some cases, classes may be asked to provide their own costume pieces (pants, jeans, jackets, etc). If this is the case, the costume cost will be discounted to reflect this.
ABSOLUTELY NO COSTUME REFUNDS AFTER MARCH 1ST.
If your child is not participating in recital, please send an email to info@fiercedanceacademy.com BEFORE MARCH 1ST or fees will still be due.
NO costumes will be ordered without the costume fee paid. Anyone who pays after March 1st will also be responsible for paying an additional $20 for individual costume shipping.
MEASUREMENTS for Costumes will be taken by instructors during classes. Measurements are taken true to size and if a child’s measurements fall in the beginning to middle of the size on the size chart, they will be ordered that size. If their measurements fall at the end of the sizing chart, we will go up a size to allow for growth. If a student receives their costume with the correct size from the sizing chart but you feel they need a smaller/bigger size, you will be required to pay a $20 exchange fee.

Important Show Information

Recitals: June 12th, 13th, 14th - 7pm at Tatnall School Laird Performing Arts Center

June 14th - 2pm at Tatnall School Laird Performing Arts Center

Only dancers, Fierce staff, and those who are signed up as volunteers are permitted backstage.

Costume/Hair/Makeup:

Dancers should arrive to the recital with their hair and makeup already done!
Dancers are recommended to arrive wearing their first costume if possible
Stage make-up should be worn! (light makeup for Kinderdance and level 1 classes!)
Hairstyle done - (Middle part low braid for all level 1 and higher. Any neat hairstyle is fine for Kinderdance)
No jewelry (studded earrings or silver hoops are acceptable)
Proper tights color (if applicable) (new recital tights should be saved for show)
Proper dance shoes
No undergarments should be visible (including bra straps)
Bring recital t-shirt to each show if participating in the curtain call/finale

Arrival Instructions - Show Days: ALL dancers need to be checked-in by an adult.

ALL dancers and their grown-ups will enter through the main lobby of Tatnall School Laird Performing Arts Center, and proceed to the check-in table.
Grown-ups will be given a check-out card upon check-in that they must present in order to pick up their dancer at dismissal. If you misplace this card, please proceed to the check-in table ASAP.
A designated backstage volunteer will take the dancers to their assigned dressing rooms.
Dancers will only be dismissed during intermission and at the end of the show. This is for the safety of your dancers.
Dancers who are participating in Curtain Call/finale are to remain backstage until the end of the show.

Grown-ups must present their check-out card to the check-out table to collect their dancer.

ALL dancers must be checked out in order to be dismissed.

Instructions for Show Day!

1. Please arrive an hour prior to your performance time. Enter through the main doors of Tatnall School Laird Performing Arts Center. One grown-up and the dancer should proceed to check-in. All other guests should remain in the lobby.

2. Auditorium doors will open 30 mins prior to showtime for audience members. We invite you to shop our recital merchandise, gifts, and more during this time!

3. Each dancer needs to be checked in. Backstage volunteers will also check-in and receive a badge. The check-in will be alphabetical by last name. For safety purposes, no one will be admitted past the check-in table without a badge. This process may be time consuming, but please note it is for the safety of your dancer.

4. Please arrive with hair and makeup done. Dancers are also encouraged to arrive with their first costume on! There is space backstage to change, but not much.

5. There will be a brief intermission during the shows. You will not be permitted backstage to visit with your child during that time.

6. If anyone must exit the theater during any of the shows for any reason please do so in between numbers.

7. Check-Out. ALL dancers must be checked out. Dancers will be dismissed during intermission, or at the end of the show ONLY. At the end of the curtain call/finale dancers will be escorted back to the dressing rooms. Dancers will not be released to their grown-ups directly from the stage. Please respect our safety procedures! After you have been checked out, and returned your badge to the parent helper, your child will be released to you. For safety reasons, you will not be allowed backstage unless you have a badge.

8. Dancers are invited to bring their own snacks. All snacks need to be nut free. Please also make sure they are light dry snacks (goldfish, crackers, etc), and WATER ONLY. You do not want to stain their costume before showtime :) You may also bring toys/ games or other amusement. A blanket/towel to sit on and define their personal space is also permitted. Please bring all personal belongings and snacks in an identifiable personal bag. Kids will be having fun!

9. We request no flash photography during the performance for the safety of the dancers. It is blinding to the eyes of dancers and distracting to the audience. You are welcome to take flash photography before or after the show, and during the curtain call/finale! Professional photos are being taken throughout each show.

10. You may record your dancer on stage! Please only record your dancer’s performance, and do not obstruct the view of other audience members.

11. The health and safety, and happiness of all dancers is our number one priority. We appreciate you following all steps above to ensure the safety of all of our dancers!
