Freeze frame is all about FREEZING ACTION or MOTION. For this type of shot, you'll need a fast shutter speed setting. A minimum shutter speed of 1/250 of a second is needed to freeze motion, if there is good lighting. But 1/250 isn't nearly fast enough to capture some subjects. You'll want to experiment with faster shutter speeds to freeze action.
