At Tom McCall, every student is checked out a Chromebook to use during the school day as part of their learning experience. These devices are important tools that help us personalize instruction, build digital literacy, and support students in exploring, creating, and thinking critically across subjects.
Technology, when used intentionally, can significantly enhance learning outcomes. Research shows that access to digital tools—paired with strong teaching—can boost engagement, improve access to information, and support a wide range of learners in building essential 21st-century skills.
We ask that students treat their Chromebooks with care and respect. Like any school resource, it’s important they are used responsibly and kept in good condition. This includes carrying them carefully, keeping food and drinks away, and following teacher directions for use.
