Moving Equipment?? Need New Equipment??
Please talk to Technology before moving any equipment.
We can also help you if you want to obtain new equipment.
What if I am really good at moving equipment?
Technology is responsible for keeping inventory of equipment. If we are not part of the process, we spend a lot of time tracking it down.
Equipment is purchased using State and Federal funds or grants. We may need to let them know where it is.
We can help make sure both you and the equipment stay physically safe during a move. (If someone might trip and break the equipment or ourselves, we would rather be the ones.)
We can make sure conditions are safe for the equipment in the new place.
Is there enough electricity? Are wires handled in a safe way to avoid equipment damage or fire? Will it be safe from water exposure? Is there a way to get internet connected if needed?
My equipment is old and I no longer want it....
We can help the school decide if it should go away for a while (to give you more room) or if it should go away for good (it has cracks in the screen and we think it's from 1985).
Some items need to stay in place too. Special funding may require us to keep items at a site and in use until the funding expires.
All equipment needs to be safely disposed of when it is at end of life. Technology handles that part of that process.
How do I go about requesting new technology?
We try to keep all sites equitable based on enrollment. For instance, a school with more students will have more Chromebooks assigned to them. Sites can opt to use their allotted funds to purchase addition items also.
If you know we already provide a certain item, please ask your site tech. A few items are assigned to staff that have a need. Some items are purchased at a district level for all sites. Most items need approval from your administrators and are purchased with their input.
If you are interested in some new or new to you technology that is not already available to you, please ask your principal first. If approved, they can request a quote form Technology. We will help with the purchase (assuming it fits our guidelines), recieve it, inventory the item, tag it and install it.
