How to Create a Noodletools Project

How to Export a citation to your Noodletools Project**

1.First, make sure you have created your Noodletools account before you do anything!

2. Second,  make sure that you are logged into your Noodletools account in a browser, such as Google Chrome or Safari. You should also create an project for your research project and name it something you can remember, like "Research Project."

3. Next, locate the Cite button at the top of your screen when your item is open.  Go ahead and click on Cite.

4. Once you click on Cite,  you are given two options -  copy your citation or export your citation.  Go ahead and click on Export Citation.

5. Then, you should be given a list of tools to export your citation to.  At this time,  you need to select the last option given - Export to Noodletools.

6.  At this time, a new tab should open up and it will give you a preview of the citation, and ask what project you want to send the citation to. Make sure your research project is selected,  and then press Import.

7.  Finally, when you go back to your Noodletools project and refresh the page, you should see your citation!

How to Export your Works Cited Page in Noodletools

When you are completely done importing citations, you can export your Works Cited page for your teacher.

1. When you are ready, open up your Mythology project in Noodletools.

2. There should be a blue box with an arrow on the top; this is the symbol for "Export."  Go ahead and click on this symbol.

3. A drop-down menu should appear with option for you. Select the first option, Print/Export to Google Docs.

4. A box should appear with formatting options for your sources; make sure All Sources is selected. Then select Submit.

5. Google Docs should then open up for you on your iPad, along with your newly created Work Cited page.  At this time, you can:

  • double check your formatting of your sources

  • add any headings that your teacher wants (e.g., name, class, date, etc.)

  • save this document to a folder for future reference...

TIP: Make sure your Google Drive is organized! Save this Works Cited page where you can easily find it!!!

** While these are directions for EBSCO resources, the process is very similar for JSTOR resources.

When you select the Cite button, make sure to click on the Export to Noodletools link. This will allow you to dump that citation as well into your project.
