The Brazilian Journal of Agriculture is supported by the Luiz de Queiroz Foundation for Agricultural Studies (FEALQ), a foundation whose mission is to help teaching, research and extension institutions make a better world.

Was founded by the Professors Nicolau Athanassof, Octavio Domingues and Salvador de Toledo Piza Junior, as "Revista de Agricultura" in 1926. It is a Brazilian scientific journal publishing papers in English in the fields of Agronomy, Animal Production, Forestry and similar ones.

It is indexed in 18 international journals and in the US Department of Agriculture.

Scope: Publishes original articles which contribute to the advancemente of the Aplications in Agricultural: Agricultural Enginneering, Agricultural Microbiology,  Agrometeorology, Agroindustrial Technology, Animal Science ande Pastures, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biometry, Modeling and Statistics, Crop and Animal Production, Ecology, Entomology, Environmental, Food Science and Technology,  Forestry, Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, Soil and Plant Nutrition, and Zoology.

The Brazilian Journal of Agriculture (Revista de Agricultura) was graded B3 by the Brazilian QUALIS/CAPES Institution, in 2013, in the areas of ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, AGRARIAN SCIENCES, INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES and ENGINEERING II. BIODIVERSITY (B5), ANIMAL HUSBANDRY/FISHING RESOURCES (B5), BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES I (C)and BIOTECHNOLOGY (C).

Original manuscripts evaluated by the Editorial Boad may be submitted to peer review of rejected without further review.

Periodicity. Three issues per year (Abril, August and December).
