Graduation 2020
Graduation Day: Thursday, May 26th
Graduation will take place on Thursday, May 26th 10 am at the Knott Arena at the PNC Complex on the campus Mount Saint Marys University
Graduates must arrive by 9:00 am.
Mandatory Graduation Practices
Graduation Practices will take place on the following dates:
Practices will be held on May 23rd, 24th, and 25th
Monday, May 23rd: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm in the THS gymnasium
Tuesday, May 24th: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm in the THS gymnasium
Wednesday, May 25th: 8:00 am - 10:30 am in the THS gymnasium
10:30 am in the THS auditorium for the Senior Awards Ceremony
Practice Guidelines
Students may not bring guests, family members, or friends to practice.
Water is encouraged
All practices are the same as school days and school rules apply.
All seniors are to leave school grounds no later than 15 minutes after practice.
Be On Time!
Seniors are expected to be ON TIME for all practices. They also expected to stay for the entire practice.
If seniors do not stay for each practice – for the entire practice – they will not participate in the ceremony .
If you are late to practice, you will be given a detention for the amount of time you are late PLUS 30 minutes (example – if you are 2 minutes late, you will serve 32 minutes of detention that same day after practice.)
Graduation Practice Outline
During graduation practice the following will take place:
Practice procession and recession
Practice name reading
Practice receiving diploma jacket
Ticket hand-out
Receive honor cords
Graduation Gowns
Gowns will be available for pick-up during lunch shifts on Wednesday, May 11th. If you have not paid Herff Jones by mailing in the packet or online, you will need to pay $80 CASH ONLY on pick-up day.
Graduation Tickets
Students will receive 6 graduation tickets for the ceremony. Only students participating in the ceremony will receive the tickets.
Tickets are given out on the last day of graduation practice - Wednesday, May 25th. Students who still have obligations to THS, will not receive their tickets until the obligations are cleared.
There are no extra tickets due to the large class size. If you require more tickets, please check with other graduates to see if they are not using all of theirs.
Every person entering the arena (except infants under a year) needs a ticket.
Accessible seating space and a sign language interpreter will be available, if requested, for the graduation ceremony at Mount St. Mary’s University Knott Arena on Thursday, May 26th. If you have a family member or guest who requires accessible seating space and/or an interpreter for the deaf and/or hard of hearing, please complete this form by May 10, 2022.
For the graduation ceremony, only guests requiring accessibility and one additional family member or guest will be guaranteed seating in the accessible seating area. Additional seats may be requested, but are not guaranteed. All remaining family members may sit in the general seating area.
** PLEASE NOTE that all individuals attending the graduation ceremony, regardless of seat assignment, must have a graduation ticket **
