Front Office
If your child is not able to attend school please be sure to send an absence email to NMES.Attendance@fcps.org and include your child’s homeroom teacher as well.
If a child brings a cell phone to school it is required for the cell phone to be powered down and packed away in the student's backpack. If a child wears a smart watch to school it must be in "airplane mode" and cannot be used for communication, recording, etc. If a parent needs to communicate information with or about their child then they must call the NMES front office for assistance as students will not have access to personal mobile devices during the full school day. Click HERE to view the NMES Hot Sheet for Personal Mobile Devices.
Schoology
FCPS uses a technology tool, Schoology, to help parents stay connected with their children's assignments, grades and more. To access Schoology, you can visit the parent portal at https://app.schoology.com/login or download the free Schoology app to your device. To set up an account, you will need an email address and the 12-digit access code associated with your child, as well as the directions on this link. If you need the 12-digit code or help setting up your parent account, you can email your child's homeroom teacher or our Schoology ambassador, Mrs. Siderius (jennifer.siderius@fcps.org).
Once you have a Schoology parent account set up, you can set up notifications on assignments and check your child's grades. To learn how to do these things, there are several resources to help! You can:
to set up notifications on assignments, view these directions
to check your child's grades, watch this video

While second grade clinched the Golden Sneaker with 28% of the grade participating, we are all winners, getting our bodies ready to learn by walking to school!

Counseling
Greetings Families!
We are gearing up for our annual food drive. Starting November 9- November 20th, we will collect food/ingredients for Autumn's Table.
At Autumn's Table, our mission is to support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity through our Main Dish Meal Bag initiative. Each Main Dish Meal Bag contains all the shelf-stable ingredients needed to prepare a complete main dish, along with an easy-to-follow recipe card. Every meal is designed to feed 4-6 people. We love to share our new recipes every month as well as the 20 recipes we have developed since we started in November 2025. Since we began, Autumn's Table has distributed more than 1500 Main Dish Meal Bags to individuals and families in need of food assistance. We love to spread the love and joy of cooking and bring families together one meal bag at a time.
