Taking Action

Step 7: Create the product/outcome

7.1 Show your supervisor

    • If possible, your supervisor should be able to review the product/outcome in its entirety.
    • If that is not possible, you must bring evidence of the completed product/outcome (e.g. photos, video, samples, etc.) to show your supervisor.

7.2 Evidence for your report

    • You will also need to include evidence of your completed product/outcome in the appendix of your report.
    • Evidence, such as photos, videos, screenshots, etc., cannot exceed:
      • 5 still images (in the same report document or one additional PDF)
      • 30 seconds of audio/video
      • 1 A4 page of text

Step 8: Demonstrate thinking skills

Reflect on your thinking skills:

    • In your Process Journal analyze and evaluate your:
      • Critical thinking skills relating to your project. For example, how did you "troubleshoot systems and applications" or "consider ideas from multiple perspectives."
      • Creative thinking skills relating to your project. For example, how did you "consider multiple alternatives, including those that might be unlikely or impossible" or "make unexpected or unusual connections between objects and/or "ideas"
      • Transfer of learning from the research to generate new ideas or solve problems that helped to achieve the project’s goal.
    • Remember to record in your Process Journal specific examples of how you used critical, creative, and transfer thinking skills as you go. You will need to give specific examples of these skills in your report.

Step 9: Demonstrate communication and social skills.

9.1 Reflect on your communication skills:

    • In your Process Journal analyze and evaluate your communication skills. For example how did you "use intercultural understanding to interpret communication" or "share ideas with multiple audiences using a variety of digital environments and media"?
    • Also reflect on how you used a variety of appropriate modes of communication to interact with other people relevant to the project.
    • Your communication skills will also be evaluated based on the report. Is it consistently clear, coherent and effectively (or creatively) follows the required structure?

9.2 Reflect on your social skills:

    • In your Process Journal analyze and evaluate how well you worked with others (if appropriate to the project). For example, how well did you "manage and resolve conflict" or "exercise leadership and take on a variety of roles within groups"?

9.3 Record specific examples

    • Remember to record in your Process Journal specific examples of how you used critical, creative, and transfer thinking skills as you go. You will need to give specific examples of these skills in your report.
