School Psychology

School psychologists provide a variety of educational supports and services for primary and secondary students within the public school system.

Some examples of school psychology services include:

  • Training for staff and parents on topics related to children's learning, social emotional development and ways that school and families can provide appropriate guidance and support

  • Development and implementation of programs to support school safety and positive school climate

  • Behavioral consultation

  • Student counseling and guidance

  • Participation in Student Success Teams and the development of pre-referral interventions

  • Psychoeducational assessment and collaboration with teams in developing Individual Education Plans (IEP) and 504 Accommodation Plans

  • Referrals to community support agencies/services

  • Crisis response and threat assessment
