Employees must maintain a high degree of personal cleanliness and must conform to good hygiene practices during all working periods. Uniform items and other clothing are to be neat and clean while employees are on duty. Refer to Uniforms or Grooming and Personal Appearance for more information.
Employees must thoroughly wash their hands, fingernails (with a nail brush), and exposed portions of their arms up to their elbows with soap and warm water before starting work. Hands, fingernails, and exposed portions of arms must also be washed during work as often as necessary to keep them clean.
To wash hands:
1. Use warm (100°F) water to wet hands and arms.
2. Apply liquid soap to the palm of your hand. Use an amount approximately the size of a dime.
3. Rub hands and arms together briskly for 20 seconds.
4. Clean under fingernails and between fingers with a nail brush.
5. Rinse off soap thoroughly.
6. Dry hands and arms with an individually dispensed towel or an electric hand dryer.
Employees must wash their hands after smoking, eating, drinking, coughing, sneezing, sweeping, mopping, when switching between raw and ready-to-eat foods, and as often as necessary to remove soil and prevent cross-contamination. Employees must wash their hands twice after using the restroom or taking out the trash. Employees must keep their fingernails clean and trimmed.
Fazoli’s is committed to ensuring the health, safety and well being of our employees and customers and complying with all health department regulations. Employees shall report if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms to their manager on duty:
Diarrhea
Fever
Vomiting
Jaundice
Sore throat with fever
Lesions (such as boils and infected wounds, regardless of size) containing pus on the fingers, hand or any exposed body part
Employees cannot return to work unless they have been symptom free for twenty-four hours, or they have a release from their healthcare provider.
Employees with jaundice must have a release from their healthcare provider before returning to work.
Employees should also notify their manager on duty whenever diagnosed by a healthcare provider as being ill with any of the following diseases that can be transmitted through food or person-to-person by casual contact such as:
Salmonella
Norovirus
Hepatitis A
Salmona Typhi
Giardia
Shigella
Vibrio Cholera
Escherichia Coli
Campylobacter
Yersinia
Cryptosporidium
Entamoeba Hystolytica
Cyclospora
Employee must have a release from healthcare provider before returning to work.
In addition to the above conditions, employees shall notify their manager on duty if they have been exposed to the following high-risk conditions:
Exposure to or suspicion of causing any confirmed outbreak involving the above illnesses.
A member of their household is diagnosed with any of the above illnesses.
A member of their household is attending or working in a setting that is experiencing a confirmed outbreak of the above illnesses.
