Fourth grade is working to determine why a functioning light might not turn on. This week we discussed systems and are beginning to explore electrical systems. Our week ended with wires, lightbulbs, motors, and buzzers as students worked in pairs to make a circuit.
Fifth grade continues to explore the scientific method as they prepare for their own science fair projects. We made data tables, collected data for our Hot Wheels experiments, and created graphs by hand and using Google Sheets.
Sixth grade continues to investigate the question, "What determines the air temperature on Earth?". We focused this week on the warming and cooling effects of ocean currents on air temperature with a hands-on invesitgation, a digital simulation, and the "Ocean Currents" game.
