There will be a final exam both 1st and 2nd semesters. 2nd semester there will be several cumulative exams taken by all students in preparation for the AP exam. After the AP exam, more Calculus topics will be covered.

Grading Policy: The school’s grading policy will be followed in this class:

0-59.5 F 60-69.5 D 70-79.5 C 80-89.5 B 90-100 A

The break down of grades:

TESTS 50% Tests are generally worth 100 points and they are at the end of most chapters. If you miss a test, I automatically put a zero in the gradebook. Failure to make up the test in the approved time means that the test grade will remain a zero. Make up tests quickly!

Tests are over when time is up. The only exceptions will be for students with 504s or IEPs that provide extra time. Students with extra time will test at an alternative time (preferably in the afternoon of that day. Please contact me soon if you fall into this category.)

Quizzes 30% Quizzes happen up to two times a chapter. All quizzes are timed and are finished when time is up. The only exception will be for students with 504s or IEPs that provide extra time. Students with extra time will quiz at an alternative time to insure they are given their extra time. (preferably in the afternoon of that day. Please contact me soon if you fall into this category.) The same rules for missing and making up tests apply to missing quizzes.

Homework and Homework quizzes 20% There will be homework every night. Credit will be given for attempting to do the majority of the work. HW is worth 10 points a night. You will receive a 0(little to none), a 5(half of the work), or a 10(attempted all the work). HW will need to be posted as a pdf in Canvas.

On days you miss school, you can find out the assignment on my website and a video of class on Educreations. It is highly advised that you make this homework up as soon as possible. You can also find the daily notes on Canvas. It is expected that you will attempt to look at the work you missed as soon as possible.

Students should get help early if you are having trouble! Weekly schedules of help sessions will be announced on Sundays.
