High School Summer Reading
Attention 8th Graders Going to High School -- Here are the summer reading lists as I am aware. Always double check with your high school for requirements.
Bryan Station High School - BSHS requires all 9th Grade Acemedy students to read Kids of Appetite by David Arnold. More information about the author and book can be found on his website. Books were available at 8th grade orientation night in March and will be given out in May after testing. This is not optional. During the second week of classes, all courses will have an assignment/project that goes along with this book. Remember, BSHS does not grade homework and all assignments are summative grades such as tests and projects.
Douglass High School - Students are required to read one of the following two books over the summer:
· Freshman Academy: Choice of Dear Martin by Nic Stone or Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
Students in the Bio-medical program are required to read an additional book.
· The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
Students may located copies at the Lexington Public Library or book stores.
