Hispanic Heritage Day

Students at BSHS had the opportunity to participate in Hispanic Heritage day during and after school. They were asked to wear their favorite Hispanic country's jersey during school so their pictures could be taken. After school, they had a celebration and had a series of events. Students were able to learn how to dance salsa and merengue. There was also a performance by the Latin Dance Team and the parents were able to attend an informational meeting regarding what to do when you encounter ICE. (Immigration and Customs Enforcement )

Leading Latinas is a community based program dedicated to providing young Latina High School students with the tools necessary to succeed post high school. Leading Latinas will be working in collaboration with the BSHS Hispanic Support Group as one of many initiatives they have for their students. In monthly in-school meetings a variety of topics, including college preparedness and financial aid, will be discussed.

The Bryan Station High School Young Stallions Mentorship Program was created by a fraternity at EKU to provide educational, leadership and cultural opportunities to the young Latino men of Bryan Station.

This program will provide opportunities for young Latin men to:

  • Develop positive relationships with caring adults.
  • Obtain new skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in goal-driven activities.

The Bryan Station Latin Dance team is a group of dedicated students who are learning a variety of dance styles and cultures. These students have the opportunity to represent our school to the community in festivals, school events and dance presentations. It is vital that each student meet the requirements established to be part of the team.
